THE FOUR PONTIFICAL MISSION SOCIETIES
 
 
1. The Society for the Propagation of the Faith - "Under the direction of the Congregation for the Evangelization of Peoples (Rome, Italy) and the bishops, the Society for the Propagation of the Faith seek to foster an ever-deeper spirit of universal mission, to inform Catholics of the life and the needs of the Catholic Church in the Missions, and to encourage prayer and financial help for those mission churches." 
2. The Society of St. Peter the Apostle - "Invites individuals to support the education of candidates for the Catholic priesthood in the developing world and to support the formation of men and women candidates for the religious life in the missions."
3. The Missionary Union of Priests and Religious - "This spiritual apostolate... continues to address itself to those called to bring Catholics to a better understanding of their baptismal responsibility for the church’s missionary work — to priests, Religious, seminarians, pastoral leaders and those engaged in catechesis and religious education."
4. Holy Childhood Association - "An international organization whose membership is made up of students in Catholic elementary schools and religious education programs; it is an organization dedicated to fostering children's awareness of the missionary nature of the Church."

Adoremus - Society for the Renewal of the Sacred Liturgy - "To rediscover and restore the beauty, the holiness, the power of the Church's rich liturgical tradition while remaining faithful to an organic, living process of renewal."
Association of Hebrew Catholics - "Working to preserve the identity and heritage of Catholics of Jewish origin within the Church, to enable them to serve the Lord and all people within the mystery of their irrevocable calling."
Canon Law Society of America - "A professional association whose members are dedicated to the promotion of the study and application of canon law in the Roman Catholic Church.  The Preamble of the Society's Constitution states, 'Mindful that church laws ought to be pastoral in character and made only to serve the people of God, we accept our responsibility as Christians trained in canon law to continue research and study and to assist any member of Christ's Body singularly or collectively, laity or clergy, who will welcome the deliberations, research and common opinion of this Society.'"
Cardinal Newman Society - "The mission of The Cardinal Newman Society is to help renew and strengthen Catholic identity in Catholic higher education."
Catholic Church Extension Society - Exists to sustain and extend the Catholic Faith in poor and remote mission areas of the United States where diocesan resources are insufficient."
Catholic Theological Society of America - "To promote studies and research in theology, to relate theological science to current problems, and to foster a more effective theological education, by providing a forum for an exchange of views among theologians and with scholars in other disciplines."
GlenMary Home Missioners - "A Catholic society of priests and brothers who, along with co-workers and a cooperating community of Glenmary Home Mission Sisters, is dedicated to serving the spiritual and material needs of people throughout Appalachia, the South and Southwest."
Institute of Christ the King Sovereign Priest - "A Society of Apostolic Life of Pontifical Right whose goal is the honor of God and the sanctification of priests in the service of the Church and souls.  Its specific aim is missionary: to spread the reign of our Lord Jesus Christ in all spheres of human life.  Our work is carried out under the patronage of the Immaculate Conception, to Whom the Institute is consecrated."
 
 
Knights of Columbus - "A Catholic men's fraternal benefit society that was formed to render financial aid to members and their families....Social and intellectual fellowship is promoted among members and their families through educational, charitable, religious, social welfare, war relief and public relief works."  
 
I have been a member of Council 1838 in Menasha, WI for over 30 years and recommend all Catholic men investigate becoming a member of the Knights of Columbus - Vincent Bemowski - Webmaster/Editor.
 
Latin Liturgy Association, Inc. - "The LLA is unique in that it supports using Latin both for Mass according to the revised Missal of Pope Paul VI (Vatican II) and the pre-Vatican II Tridentine Mass which can be celebrated according to the guidelines issued by Pope John Paul II in his motu proprio Quattuor Abhinc Annos of 1984, as modified by the Holy Father's motu proprio, Ecclesia Dei of 1988."
Mary Mother of God Mission Society - "Reviving the Catholic church in the far east of Russia."
Pontifical Mission Societies in the United States - "Help is offered for pastoral and evangelizing programs, for catechists and catechetical work, to build churches and chapels, for the work of Religious Communities in health care and education, and for communication and transportation needs."
Sensus Catholicus Society - "The SCS is a body of like-minded Christian men and women who aspire to the highest standards of theological investigation and moral behavior."
Society of African Missions - SMA Fathers - "A community of Catholic missionaries who come from around the world with a commitment to serve the people of Africa."
The Latin Mass Society - "A lay-led Catholic society, in full communion with the Pope, working towards a restoration of authentic traditional Catholic worship, particularly in Sacred Liturgy, Music and Architecture." 
The Society of Catholic Social Scientists - "Composed of Catholic scholars, professors, teachers, practitioners, and others in political science and political philosophy, sociology, social thought, social work, counseling, history, economics, psychology, psychiatry, law, anthropology, geography, and other disciplines whose work touches social or public concerns (e.g., theology, philosophy, medicine)."
