(Hundreds of Interesting Articles & Commentaries)

"Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu told revelers that Trump's December declaration recognizing Jerusalem as Israel's capital was "the right thing to do."  "Thank you, President Trump, for your bold decision. Thank you for making the alliance between Israel and the United States stronger than ever,” he said.  The prime minister said Trump's decision recognized a 3,000-year Jewish connection to Jerusalem and the "truth" that Jerusalem would be Israel's capital under any future peace deal."

"On May 14, 1948, just after a provisional government proclaimed the new State of Israel, President Truman said: “This government has been informed that a Jewish state has been proclaimed in Palestine, and recognition has been requested by the provisional government thereof. The United States recognizes the provisional government as the de facto authority of the new State of Israel.”  In that moment, the United States made history as the first nation to recognize the legitimacy of the new Jewish state. And now, 70 years later, the U.S. is making history again as our great nation will legitimize the State of Israel, our ally and friend, by moving the U.S. Embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem, Israel’s eternal capital."

"Trump’s decision to scrap the nuclear deal was sharply criticized by European leaders, who have pledged to uphold their side of the agreement...(Secretary of State) Bolton asked on ABC’s This Week: “Why would any business, why would the shareholders of any business, want to do business with the world’s central banker of international terrorism?”..Trump returned to the issue on Twitter. “Remember how badly Iran was behaving with the Iran Deal in place,” he wrote. “They were trying to take over the Middle East by whatever means necessary. Now, that will not happen!”

Commentary:  Trading with the "devil" has gotten some European countries in a bind.  Their investments could be endangered and they stand to lose a great deal of money.  However, that is the result of foolishly  pursuing greedy trade deals with morally sick leaders in Iran who support terrorism.  Therefore, it is difficult to feel sorry for them.  vtb

"US Embassy Jerusalem Dedication Ceremony."

"Candace Owens (TPUSA) joins Dave to discuss her journey from liberal to conservative, her issues with the 'alt-left,' identity politics, and more.  This young lady will be a star of the GOP and made a splash in the last few months."

“I recognize the strong allure Christianity has. The reward of heaven, the threat of hell, the reunion with loved ones, the fellowship of the Church, the assurance of relief from pain. These things all have a powerful pull to them, even if they are imaginary.”  That’s what an atheist commenter told me on my Thinking Christian blog a couple weeks ago. He seems to think believers choose religion for comfort. If only he knew."

"A plan pending in the California legislature that promoters say is necessary so people with same-sex inclinations don’t hear messages challenging them has now gotten the attention of Gov. Mike Huckabee.  In a message to supporters he says the proposal...is “a terrible storm that’s brewing on the horizon.”  It would ban counseling, conferences and even printed materials that advocate for ways to get rid of unwanted same-sex attractions, and several experts have not only confirmed the vaguely written proposal could ban sales of Bibles, but one ministry expert has announced plans to boycott the state with his conferences.

"LONDON, May 14, 2018 (LifeSiteNews) – The question of what caused the death of UK toddler Alfie Evans may never be known. The UK High Court refused today to order a post-mortem examination of the toddler’s remains at the request of a pro-life advocate."

"As the battle over the life and death of Alfie Evans intensified in the full glare of the onlooking world, I was among those who could not comprehend the unswerving logic of an entire machinery, governmental and ecclesiastical, locked on course for the snuffing out of a precious human life, that of little Alfie, who from his hospital bed lay blissfully unaware of the extraordinary tumult surrounding him, a tumult inside and outside the hospital, in the courts, in the media, around the whole world.  I cannot help but feel that in ages past, Alfie Evans might have lit the blue touchpaper of civil unrest, mass demonstrations, even calls for revolution in a country like the United Kingdom. The sheer powerlessness felt by those following the case of Alfie and his parents, those close to him and those far away, apart from a committed and passionate team surrounding the family, an intense gathering of supporters outside the hospital, manifested itself in cries from the heart on social media, blogs, Facebook and other vents for public anger and frustration. Perhaps because of the rise of social media, things have changed, perhaps not for the better. Perhaps when the release valves of public anger made known through hashtags fail to save the cause of a baby boy, it is time for a rethink."

"If we lived in sane times, the astonishing mass defection and sacrilege of the German bishops would never take place. We do not live in sane times, and we are therefore witnessing the spectacle of a Pope saying to his bishops of one Country “I will support your sacrilege and heresy if you are unanimous in your decision to be heretical and sacrilegious”.  It beggars belief.

"As a priest and confessor, if a penitent tells me he is sexually active in an invalid marriage or in a same-sex relationship, but insists that he plans to continue his sinful acts, I am obliged to try to bring him to a realization that his subjective opinion regarding his conduct cannot overrule the objective moral law and the clear teaching of Christ; and that I have to follow my conscience and withhold absolution if he is unwilling to firmly resolve to amend his life. If the penitent persists in saying he does not believe he is committing a sin, I would have to tell him: “Then I have nothing to absolve you from”; and then ask him: “Why are you here in the confessional asking to be absolved from a course of conduct you do not believe is sinful?”

"Hong Kong Cardinal Joseph Zen, talking to Al Jazeera, called Pope Francis’ deal with China a “betrayal, evil and a sellout”. Francis wants to recognize the Chinese Regime Church. According to Zen, a majority of the state bishops are “slaves of the Communist regime” who really have – quote - “no faith”. Zen told Al Jazeera that – quote – “the Holy See always encourages surrender, everywhere.” He points out that – quote - “many people in the universal church may lose their faith in the pope."

"A news I received from anonymous but credible Chinese sources, later confirmed by some articles, says that in the '80s and' 90s, when the renewed Mass was introduced in China, as we still celebrated the Tridentine Mass for the closure in which the country was found, the government did not take it well because it considered this change to be a "foreign interference". This concept of foreign interference, who frequents China, understands that it is not simply an element of understanding, but an authentic obsession, something that needs to be reckoned willy-nilly and, in the end, probably one of the obstacles bigger for an authentic relationship with this people."

"American Protestantism has adapted to the modern age and lost followers in droves. Catholics should think twice before copying it."

"There is, however, one way to exaggerate the importance of Humanae Vitae. That is to see it as a standalone work of a trailblazing pope. Sometimes the document is praised as though Paul were Albert Einstein and the encyclical were the paper on special relativity. In fact, Humanae Vitae was magnificently unoriginal. As that vehement “No!” demonstrates, Paul was holding firmly to what had been given him: through the statements of his immediate predecessors and the consistent judgments of the Vatican’s doctrinal office; further back, through the seventeenth century Catechism of the Council of Trent, the medieval theologians, the Church Fathers."

"Hilaire Belloc thundered against the heresies of his age and defied the storms of war and secularism with which his life and times were beset."

“We wanted to be involved, and those behind it had good intentions,” a Vatican official told the Register. “As the Met is one of the most significant cultural institutions in the world, and our remit is to engage the world, we see it as important.”  But the Vatican was unaware of the Met Gala and that the evening event would be used by some celebrities to dress up in a way deemed by many to be a sacrilegious mockery of the Church."

'President Trump and First Lady Melania hosted an event in the White House East Room observing National Military Spouse Appreciation Day.  This has been an annual celebration dating back to 1984 as President Ronald Reagan recognized the profound importance of spouse commitment to the readiness and well-being of members of our military.  Each year, the POTUS commemorates this day with a formal speech and a proclamation.  In opening comments, Melania addressed the mothers in the room.  She said, “Today, I want to take this opportunity to let you all know that as mothers who are members of the military community, you deserve recognition for not only your love for your children but for the dedication and sacrifice you make on behalf of our country each and every day.”

"It’s just amazing how dopey the Trump haters are.  Trump got three prisoners home from North Korea and he released zero terrorists to do it.  Are you tired of winning yet?  Unfortunately many on the Left don’t think we’re winning at all.  Trump also didn’t hand over hundreds of millions of dollars in cash, on pallets, in the middle of the night like a Colombian drug cartel the way Obama did with Iran.  Of course, the Obama lie that time was that the money was owed to the Iranians for a weapons payment settlement, but as soon as that planeload  of cash was delivered to Iran, the American hostages were released, making Barack Obama the first American president to pay for hostages, a move that was a dangerous precedent that was never identified as such by his adoring press, the same people who trash Trump through all of his achievements."

"Detractors of President Trump like to highlight that ObamaCare is still in existence, despite Republicans controlling both houses of congress. But President Trump has quietly gained the upper hand on several crucial health care reforms including the repeal of Obama cares individual mandate, the laws core, in last years tax bill. Another victory is the repeal of ObamaCare's independent payment advisory board, aka the ObamaCare death panel. Naturally the media gives him no credit for these achievements."

"An analysis from The Wall Street Journal’s Kimberley Strassel on the latest developments in the Justice Department’s decision to allow House Intelligence Committee members to view classified information about “a top-secret intelligence source” in the FBI’s investigation into the Trump campaign revealed that the FBI may have spied on the campaign more than previously thought."

"In 1955, Pope Pius XII instructed Catholic lawyers that capital punishment is morally defensible in every age regardless of culture because "the coercive power of legitimate human authority" is based on "sources of revelation and traditional doctrine" and that no one can "say that the aforementioned sources contain only thoughts which correspond to the historic circumstances and to the culture of the time."  While Pope John Paul II and more recently Pope Francis have made comments calling for the abolition of the death penalty, they are not binding on Catholic faithful and reflect their personal opinions.

In fact, as head of the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith (CDF), Cdl. Joseph Ratzinger said in 2004:

"If a Catholic were to be at odds with the Holy Father on the application of capital punishment or on the decision to wage war, he would not for that reason be considered unworthy to present himself to receive Holy Communion. ... There may be a legitimate diversity of opinion even among Catholics about waging war and applying the death penalty."

Commentary: Sadly, Pope Francis and our liberal U.S. bishops continue to twist tradition and offer incomplete opinions on the death penalty in an attempt to force their views on their flock.  Thereby, they express little regard for the victims of horrible crimes.  Those who commit murder often do not reveal all the details and the number of their victims, but when faced with the death penalty, they are motivated to give all the details.  To eliminate the death penalty would take from the police an option that would prevent additional pain to the victim's families.  vtb

"At MLB's "LGBT Pride" nights, the gay rainbow flags are often unfurled, there is "rainbow-themed baseball merchandise," the promotion of LGBT organizations, and homosexuals or transgenders are often invited to throw the ceremonial first pitch...  The stadiums, despite the presence of children, also often use the "kiss cams" to project gays kissing onto a large screen.  The 23 MLB teams holding "LGBT Pride" nights this year are: Atlanta Braves, New York Mets, Philadelphia Phillies, Washington Nationals, Chicago Cubs, Cincinnati Reds, Milwaukee Brewers, Pittsburgh Pirates, St. Louis Cardinals, Arizona Diamondbacks, Colorado Rockies, Los Angeles Dodgers, San Diego Padres, San Francisco Giants, Baltimore Orioles, Boston Red Sox,  Tampa Bay Rays, Toronto Blue Jays, Kansas City Royals, Chicago White Sox, Minnesota Twins, Oakland Athletics and Seattle Mariners."

“The drug lobby is making an absolute fortune at the expense of American consumers. No industry spends more money on lobbying than the pharmaceutical health products industry. Last year, these companies spent nearly $280 million on lobbyists. That’s more than tobacco, oil, and defense contractors combined,” he said.  “Our plan will end the dishonest double dealing that allows the middle man to pocket rebates and discounts that should be passed onto consumers and patients,” the president said.

"He (U.K.’s Education Secretary, Damian Hinds) went on to say that the government will not scrap the cap on religious-based admissions to new free schools but will instead provide funds for local authorities to create a new generation of "voluntary-aided" faith schools. What he did not say is that this has broadly been the status quo for the last years in any event, and in no way helps the faith community most affected by the 50 percent rule, namely the Catholic community."

"After blocking minors from churches and seizing church-run kindergartens, Beijing's crackdown on Catholic and Protestant churches is intensifying in seven dioceses out of 10 in China's central Henan province with churches demolished and raided as well as hundreds of Bibles and holy books confiscated."

"Catholic churches within the country are closely monitored with surveillance cameras to ensure that Muslims do not enter, and religious schools are limited in what they can teach..."

"As in the gay marriage case, the role of the Catholic Church this time is tricky: some feel the Church should be out in front robustly defending one of its core teachings. Others worry moralizing by celibate priests may prove counter-productive.  “The priests in a way are damned if they do and damned if they don’t,” leading anti-abortion activist Vicky Wall said as she campaigned in central Ireland against repeal."

Commentary:  Granted, the voice of bishops & priests in Ireland is no longer accepted by a large non-religious portion of the population, but one of the reasons is they do not speak out when they should.  To basically be silent when their voices are needed is very cowardly and against the teachings in the Holy Bible:

"Preach the word: be instant in season, out of season: reprove, entreat, rebuke in all patience and doctrine."
2 Timothy 4:2

The young Muslims who listened to Dominic Driman were educated in the basic idea of Islam: spreading religion everywhere. It is, according to Driman himself, the only reason why humans exist.  And to the young Muslims in Sweden, the call was clear. They must first organize themselves to make the Rock, otherwise known as Sweden, an Islamic country."

"All three networks on Friday morning found time for the gossipy, unverified report that Donald Trump yelled at Department of Homeland Security Secretary Kirstjen Nielsen. But NBC and ABC are STILL ignoring the news that five top ISIS leaders have been captured in Iraq and 40 more were killed in an air strike."

"TEL AVIV – Defense Minister Avigdor Liberman said Thursday morning that the IDF destroyed “almost all of Iran’s military infrastructure sites in Syria” overnight in response to a rocket barrage on Israel’s north, and warned Tehran that attacks on Israeli territory will be met with “the strongest possible force.”

"Pope Francis had previous defended (Bishop) Barros, saying he had received no evidence of the bishop's guilt, and called accusations against him “calumny” during a trip to Chile in January.  However, after receiving Scicluna's report, Francis issued his major “mea culpa” and asked to meet the bishops and more outspoken survivors in person."

"VATICAN CITY — A Chilean survivor of sexual abuse says that he wrote a letter to Pope Francis in 2015 claiming that Bishop Juan Barros of Chile witnessed abuse perpetrated by his friend Father Fernando Karadima and that the Pope failed to act on the letter.   In April 2015, Marie Collins, then a member of the Vatican’s Pontifical Commission for Minors, along with three other members of the commission, met with Cardinal Sean O’Malley, the Pope’s top adviser on sex abuse, giving him a letter from a victim of Father Karadima to deliver to the Pope, according to a Feb. 5 report from The Associated Press."

"A coral snake, considered to be one of the most venomous species of snake in North America, recently bit Jeffrey Phillips outside his Gilbertown, Alabama home."

"There will be a request from us to audit the financial resources of this investigation," Meadows said. "It is certainly within the parameters. It is appropriated funding from Congress."  Meadows added in a tweet, “This investigation has gone on for nearly a year with no evidence of any collusion. Americans deserve to know how and where the Mueller team is using their tax dollars--and how much of the investigation is truly about "collusion" vs. political targeting."

"Tim Donner and Scott Cosenza of LibertyNation.com discuss the dizzying string of events related to the Special Counsel investigation."

"Writing in National Review, David French launched another attack on evangelical Christians who support President Trump, calling them out as sinful compromisers denying the supreme purpose of God in their lives.  I wholeheartedly reject French’s rebuke as valid. It is wrong biblically, philosophically and, by extension, politically.  By way of context, I became a follower of Jesus Christ in 1982 when I was 17. Due to my submission to the authority of Scripture, I likewise fall into the category of what is commonly called “evangelical” — a term that is as frequently misunderstood as it is misused. I mention these points upfront since it is people like me who sit in the audience to which French was aiming his rebuke."

"Trump has been accomplishing amazing successes for Americans and around the world, from the booming economy to North Korea, Israel, Iraq and so much more, Trump has made America stronger, more respected and safer. But McCain does not like the way he comports himself, his personal life, his unpresidential tweeting or his insults. In a sense, he does not like the way Trump refuses to conform to the the ways of Washington.  Second, and far worse, McCain proudly admits in his new book coming out that he was the person who gave the now-infamous Steele dossier to FBI Director James Comey. The dossier was opposition research funded by the Clinton Campaign and Democratic National Committee and was mostly tawdry fiction from a guy who also possesses a deep dislike of Trump. This ungrounded smear job apparently formed part of the basis for the FBI surveillance on the Trump team and for the now-fizzling Trump-Russia investigation."

"Google is overhauling its user privacy policy, not because it wants to do it or because it wants to collect less data about you, but because Europe is forcing the company to allow customers to better manage their data. Google, of course, is hoarding even more data about you than Facebook, a company that’s been the news lately because of the Cambridge Analytica user privacy breach. Just like Facebook, Google has to comply with Europe’s General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR)."

"An eight-story monster wave that crashed down in the Southern Ocean off the coast of New Zealand has set a record. It's the largest known wave to ever hit the Southern Hemisphere, according to New Zealand scientists."

"Over half of all Americans are routinely consuming foods high in calories and fat, producing the obesity epidemic we face today.  In response, universities are increasingly implementing programs to train future doctors on culinary techniques for making healthy meals and interpreting food labels.  They will use this information to guide patients on leading beneficial lifestyles."

"According to the Australian Red Cross Blood Service, he has helped saved the lives of more than 2.4 million Australian babies.  First, a note about antibodies.  Harrison’s blood has unique, disease-fighting antibodies that have been used to develop an injection called Anti-D, which helps fight against rhesus disease.  This disease is a condition where a pregnant woman’s blood actually starts attacking her unborn baby’s blood cells. In the worst cases, it can result in brain damage, or death, for the babies."

"Facebook announced that it would suspend all ads relating to the Irish abortion referendum originating from outside of Ireland; shortly after, Google and YouTube announced the suspension of all related ads, period. It is entirely without irony that Google and Facebook – American companies, the both of them – claim that their bans protect Irish votes from outside interference.  For those unsure of Google’s political leanings, some additional reading is in order. The same goes for Facebook. Both companies are undeniably left-leaning."

"Though it came to pass with zero mainstream or social media notice, Sister Rita Callanan’s heartfelt plea to Pope Francis to save the Los Angeles Sisters of the Immaculate Heart of Mary convent from pop star Katy Perry fell on deaf ears.  Sister Callanan was last in the news when she told Britain’s Daily Mail that she was appealing directly to Pope Francis to intervene in her 3-year old legal battle with Perry even though Perry won the legal battle to buy the California convent in 2016.  So It must have come as the proverbial slap in the face when the 79-year-old nun saw pictures of "pious"  Perry being blessed by Francis at the Vatican, then days later sporting six-feet-wide ‘angel’ wings at the 2018 Met gala, Heavenly Bodies: Fashion and the Catholic Imagination."  (See below article "Great Scandals").

Burke called the proposal that German Protestants should be "allowed" to receive Holy Communion "absurd."  He hopes that Francis will correct this, "Otherwise, the Roman Catholic Church ends up in a situation like the ever multiplying Protestant denominations."

Commentary:  Francis rarely corrects himself, only if a large number of people object to a statement of his as happened in Chile (see below).  Therefore, unfortunately he will continue to ignore his critics and carry on with his political manner of leading the Church.  vtb

"Francis blamed a lack of "truthful and balanced information" for misjudging the situation concerning Bishop Juan Barros, who he appointed to the small diocese of Osorno in 2015 despite allegations that he had helped cover up abuse by his mentor, the Rev. Fernando Karadima...However, there was no indication whether or not Bishop Barros would stay on in his post."

"In 2011, Father Fernando Karadima, who led a well-known Chilean parish, was found guilty of sexually abusing minors and sentenced to a life of prayer and penance. One of the priests close to Father Karadima was Barros, who had been a bishop for over 20 years. When Francis named Barros bishop of Osorno in 2015, protests erupted throughout the diocese and the country, featuring charges that Barros was aware of Father Karadima’s history of abuse and helped to cover it up.  Bishop Barros has adamantly denied the charges and has even offered his resignation to Pope Francis. Not only did Francis reject the offer, but while in Chile in January, he doubled down on his defense of Bishop Barros, saying that he had never received evidence from his accusers...Yet despite the promise of accountability, transparency, and reform – either perceived or enacted – the shadow of the Bishop Barros case looms large not only in Chile, but in the United States, and throughout the global Church."

"I'm a Catholic,” Morgan wrote for the Daily Mail. “Not the most devout you'll ever meet, I'll admit. But I was brought up a Catholic – I even received not entirely successful spiritual guidance from nuns as a teenager! – and I still consider myself to be a Catholic. I know many people don't believe in any God or religion, let alone Catholicism, and I respect that. All I ask in return is for my beliefs not to be rudely disrespected.”  And the Met Gala costumes did just that, he wrote. Such costumes included sexualizations of the Blessed Virgin Mary, Rihanna dressed as a glitzy female pope, and a Victoria’s Secret model in a modified cardinal’s cassock with a slit up the side."

Commentary:  Those who organized this highly offensive spectacle may laugh now, but I'll guarantee you on Judgement Day they won't be laughing.  vtb

"Vatican watchers say the pope's refusal to rule on the crisis reflects his vision of a "decentralized" Church, in which individual bishops and bishops conferences make decisions independent of Rome...Müller lamented the Vatican's response as "very poor," as it included "no answer to the central, essential question."   A crisis is building, he insisted, and it demands a solution — a "clear expression of the Catholic faith." The pope, he added, must "affirm the faith" concerning its "pillar ... the Eucharist.  "It has always been clear to every Catholic that to receive the Body and Blood of Christ in the Eucharist in a lawful and fruitful manner, one needs to be in full communion with the ecclesial body of Christ in the profession of the Creed, in the sacraments and in the hierarchical constitution of the visible Church," Müller said in March. "In addition, believers must be in the state of sanctifying grace — that is, they need to have repented sincerely of any mortal sin and confessed it, firmly resolving not to sin again."

Commentary:  If Francis truly wants these type decisions to be left up to the bishops and continues to ignore cardinals who oppose his radical views, then perhaps they should vote to remove him from his Holy Office.  That might wake up our spiritually lazy pope, but sadly, since most cardinals are equally lazy, it is doubtful we will see any action by them.  vtb

"The sight of the infamous golden arches hardly sparks thoughts of health-conscious food options, but sometimes, fast food is an inevitable part of road trips, offering the only quick, cheap, and easy choice. In most categories, however, there are both good and bad food options, and ordering off the menu at McDonald’s is no different. When you’re short on time and limited to drive-through options, it’s helpful to know what foods you should avoid. Here are the worst choices at McDonald’s as well as their healthier counterparts."

“This was a horrible one-sided deal that should have never, ever been made,” Trump said. “It didn’t bring calm, it didn’t bring peace, and it never will.,,Trump signed a memorandum to end the deal, reinstating the nuclear sanctions against Iran originally put in place by the Obama administration.  “America will not be held hostage to nuclear blackmail,” he said.

"President Trump announced that the United States would be terminating the Iran deal. He did so on firm footing, to the consternation of the nation’s media as well as European allies who have been itching to do business with the Islamic Republic for decades. Trump explained, correctly, that “the Iranian regime is the leading state sponsor of terror. It exports dangerous missiles, fuels conflicts across the Middle East, and supports terrorist proxies and militias such as Hezbollah, Hamas, the Taliban and Al Qaeda.” He went on to list the terrorist activities in which the regime has participated, and mentioned that the mullahs have “plunder[ed] the wealth of its own people.”

"Iran lied about its nuclear weapons program. The Iran Deal lobby lied about stopping that program. It told us to believe that Iran didn’t want nuclear weapons. Now it’s telling us that it never believed that."

"The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) plans on repealing an Obama-era requirement effectively mandating all new coal-fired power plants be outfitted with unproven emissions technology..."

"In April, the federal government took in a record sum of $515 billion in taxes, according to a newly released Congressional Budget Office report. During that time, we spent $297 billion. Yes, you read that correctly: We actually took in more than we spent — a lot more. That $218 billion surplus is, in fact, a new record, beating the previous record set back in 2001 ($190 billion) by $28 billion."

"The May IBD/TIPP poll finds that the public is increasingly happy with the direction of the country, as well as with their own quality of life and financial stress levels. They also give Trump higher marks on leadership and on his handling of the economy."

"You don’t really care about Mr. Manafort’s bank fraud … What you really care about is what information Mr. Manafort could give you that would reflect on Mr. Trump or lead to his prosecution or impeachment.”
---Judge Ellis

"One of the main reasons we voted to exit was to get back control of our borders and get standing up and fighting for that, I’ve been demonized and most people are scared of being put in that position. I have to say in many ways you are very lucky in America. You’ve got a president who doesn’t care what the liberal media says and stands up and fights for the right things."

"The Democratic Party lied and cheated their way to power, always hiding their true objectives.  Lies and deception go hand-in-hand with communism, it is even written in their bible, The Communist Manifesto, and Democrats are experts at camouflaging their actual agenda."

"Attorney General Jeff Sessions vowed before hundreds of senior law enforcement officials Monday that he will not allow the United States to be "stampeded" by illegal immigrants and drug cartels.  "Right now we are dealing with a massive influx of illegal aliens across our southwest border. In April, we saw triple the number from last April. But we’re not going to stand for this. We are not going to let this country be invaded. We will not be stampeded. We will not capitulate to lawlessness," Sessions told attendees at the Association of State Criminal Investigative Agencies spring conference in Scottsdale, Ariz."

“I have a treasure to leave you,” said his dying mother, “Reach under my pillow.”  Doing so, Hubald pulled out a Rosary.  “This is what I leave you, my son,” gasped the mother, “I have nothing else, but this Rosary is enough. In honor of your dying mother, promise me that you will say it every day...Assembling his troops, the Colonel rode into the fray. There was a fierce battle, men falling on all sides, but hours later the victory went to the French.  Among the dead, struck by a fatal bullet, was found Colonel Hubald. In his pocket he had his mother’s beads.  The Rosary had opened heaven to him."

"One of the surest ways of combating the devil is by developing a close relationship with the Blessed Virgin Mary. The devil hates her and runs away from those who are close to her.  According to Italian exorcist Fr. Sante Babolin, “while I was insistently invoking the Most Holy Virgin Mary, the devil answered me: ‘I can’t stand That One (Mary) any more and neither can I stand you any more.'”  Furthermore, he discovered that  “‘the strongest reactions’ of the devil during the exorcism occur ‘when references are made to her apparitions.'” Therefore, Babolin frequently invokes the Virgin Mary under her titles of “Lourdes, Fatima or Guadalupe.”

"Beginning on Corpus Christi, June 3, Archbishop Alexander Sample of Portland, U.S.A., determined that those attending Holy Mass will [again] kneel from the Lamb of God to Holy Communion.  According to a press release of the archdiocese the change should “aid in the reverent participation of the Holy Mass and increase our devotion to the Holy Eucharist."

"Müller reminded Pope Francis that he is supposed to “give a very clear orientation” regarding this [settled] question and that this is not about his “personal opinion", rather, Francis as a pope is supposed to act "according to the revealed faith.”

"Refusing nutrition, hydration and ventilation to a small child is not an act of mercy...Cardinal Joseph Tobin welcomes openly gay Catholics to Holy Mass in his cathedral. Cardinal Walter Kasper supports giving Holy Communion to couples living in adultery. Cardinal Reinhard Marx protests against the crucifix being displayed in government buildings and endorses blessings for same-sex couples. Cardinal Jozef de Kesel declares that gay sexual experience should be a possibility in the Church. Cardinal Blase Cupich promotes a "New Paradigm" for Catholic morality and argues that active gays can receive Holy Communion if their conscience permits.  Cardinal Vincent Nichols is the latest recruit to the ranks of the men in red. The Archbishop of Westminster believes that the nanny state can usurp the rights of parents. He insists that suffocating a terminally ill child by yanking it off the ventilator is "an act of mercy." He reveals that his interpretative framework for Catholic doctrine is "society's common good." He defends a children's hospital notorious for harvesting organs from dead babies and failing to meet four out of five safety standards."

"(Father) Slattery is clear that priests need to have “a Catholic and priestly identity and to be creators of creative minorities.” They need to be equipped in five key areas: in celebrating the liturgy; in theology; as pro-convert missionaries; as persuasive communicators for the “contemporary mass-media mentality:" and “by acquiring an historical imagination, because to re-build we must remember: remember who you are and that by being truly Catholic you will change society; you simply cannot fail.”

"The advent of live-streaming Masses has proved valuable for many of my parishioners, and it has a place in evangelisation too. The internet can help to make the Mass available to more people than ever before."

Examine your conscience - Have remorse for your sins - Resolve not to sin again - Reveal your sins to the priest - Complete your penance

“Whether it's public meetings or not,” Pence said, “I've lost count of the number of times that the president has nudged me, or nudged another member of the Cabinet and said, 'Let's start this meeting with prayer.'"  “He’s someone who really believes in the power of prayer,” added Pence, “and in the importance of faith in American life.”

"The US is about to beat Saudi Arabia to be the world's largest exporter of crude and oil products according to Citigroup.  US crude exports last week increased to an all-time high.  The surge in exports are driven by price differences between the London-traded global benchmark and US benchmark.

"It was interesting to note, in riding around the rim of the caldera, that old pagan altars used by kahunas stand there amid the primordial blackened landscape. Native Hawaiians, like so many indigenous around the world, mixed worship of One God with tributes to nature deities and spoke to spirits. "And, granted, Leviticus can seem extreme; it calls for the death penalty if one commits adultery or sodomy. But it goes beyond a single passage in the Old Testament. Deliverance ministers will tell you they’ve handled oppress ions, infestations, and obsessions — in a word, demonism — that, they came to learn, upon casting it out, was attached to a skin marking.  Is everyone who has a tattoo thusly infected? They were not saying that. But surely it’s not prudent to have tattoos of the devil or skulls/crossbones and naked women and the like, as what is basically body graffiti."

"The seismic event -- reportedly Hawaii's biggest earthquake since the 1970s -- was preceded by reports of a 5.4-magnitude earthquake that struck roughly 11 miles southwest of the same area, the USGS said.  The Pacific Tsunami Warning Center said the earthquake wasn't powerful enough to cause a tsunami, according to the Associated Press. No tsunami threat or advisory is in place, they added."

"Two hours before dying, the oxygen saturation was about 98 and Alfie's [heart]beats were about 160, so much so that Thomas was convinced that they would let him go home soon (as the hospital administration told him on Friday afternoon). Before dying, while Thomas had gone out for a moment, leaving Kate half-awake and another family member in the room, a nurse entered and explained that he would give the baby four drugs (no one knows what) to treat him. After about 30 minutes the saturation dropped to 15. Two hours later Alfie was dead."

"The Associated Press’s Saturday coverage of 23 month-old Alfie Evans’s death at a UK hospital worked almost as mightily to cover up ugly actions and statements made by the UK courts, medical professionals, and even law enforcement as the parties just mentioned worked to ensure that the boy would die."

Löw is a German professor emeritus of political science and law, and a defender of human rights who has written books on the phenomenon of totalitarianism and is himself a Karl Marx specialist. His most important book in this field is Mythos Marx und seine Macher (Myth Marx and Its Creators).  He pointed out that the Communist Manifesto calls for "violent destruction" of current political orders which will produce "mountains of corpses and streams of blood."  "The Communists despise it to hide their intentions and purposes. They declare openly that their goals can only be reached with the help of the violent destruction of the whole heretofore existing societal order. May the ruling classes tremble!” If I picture this future, I see mountains of corpses and streams of blood – Stalin sends his greetings!"

"Young people are drawn to the Traditional Latin Mass by its “beauty," “sense of mystery” and “transcendence”, Archbishop Alexander K Sample has said.  Speaking during a Pontifical High Mass in the Extraordinary Form at the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception in Washington DC, Archbishop Sample praised Pope Benedict XVI for the “great gift” of Summorum Pontificum – the document that allowed the traditional Mass to be more widely celebrated – and said the “reverence and sacredness” of the old Mass would enrich the Novus Ordo."

"U.S. officials and congressional insiders view the disclosure Monday by Israel of Iran’s ongoing efforts to develop a nuclear weapon as game over for the landmark nuclear deal, telling the Washington Free Beacon that new evidence of Iran’s top secret nuclear workings makes it virtually impossible for President Donald Trump to remain in the agreement.  Senior Trump administration officials confirmed the findings as authentic and praised Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s for disclosing thousands of secret documents proving Iran lied about its past work on a nuclear warhead, telling the Free Beacon the revelation was a “powerful presentation” by Israel outlining why the Iran deal must be fixed or killed.  U.S. officials who reviewed the secret documents confirmed their authenticity and said that Israel has shared the information fully with the United States, most likely to help build the case for Trump to abandon the nuclear deal, rather than try to fix what the White House views as a series of insurmountable flaws."

"What Martin felt “told” by the Lord, back in 1975, was that “days of darkness are coming on the world, days of tribulation…

“Buildings that are now standing will not be standing. Supports that are there for My people will not be there. I want you to be prepared, My people, to know only Me and to cleave to me and to have Me in a way deeper than ever before.  “I will lead you into the desert… I will strip you of everything that you are depending on now, so you depend just on Me. A time of darkness is coming on the world, but a time of glory is coming for My Church, a time of glory is coming for My people. Because I love you I want to show you what I am doing in the world today. I want to prepare you for what is to come.”

"The terms “Fathers of the Church,” “Church Fathers,” “early Church Fathers,” or simply “the Fathers,” are used by Catholics and other Christians to refer to the outstanding teachers of the Christian faith from antiquity. The underlying idea behind calling these men “Fathers” is that a teacher of the Christian faith is a spiritual father who helps give spiritual birth to those who receive his teaching. St. Paul, for example, claims to be a spiritual father to those who receive the Gospel through his ministry: “I do not write this to make you ashamed, but to admonish you as my beloved children."

This category claims a broad swath of American society, according to Pew: in almost equal numbers white and black, Republicans and Democrats, millennials and Boomers. "Saturday's White House Correspondents' Association dinner, billed as a celebration of the First Amendment and a tribute to journalists who "speak truth to power," has to be the worst advertisement in memory for our national press corps.  Comedian Michelle Wolf, the guest speaker, recited one filthy joke after another at the expense of President Trump and his people, using words that would have gotten her kicked out of school not so long ago."

"Wolf called the preborn child, about to be aborted, a “baby.”  It’s interesting that Wolf didn’t use the term “fetus” in her routine, as most pro-abortion individuals do, instead saying “baby,” when she was clearly talking about killing this child, or “knock[ing]… that baby out of there.” Well, Ms. Wolf, “knocking” isn’t exactly what happens. It’s more like shredding...This isn’t the first time a pro-abortion individual has “slipped” and confirmed the humanity of the child in utero when we least expected it.  Remember abortionist Savita Ginde from the Center for Medical Progress video, who, upon picking through the body parts of the child she had just shredded and sucked from a woman’s womb, said, “It’s a baby”? Whoops! Not a “clump of cells” or a “product of conception.” A baby. Hear and see for yourself near the end of this video..."

Commentary:  Cardinal Nichols is another poor example of a poor leader in today's confused Church.  Parents must be the first to choose how their children are medically treated.  His scandalous behavior should be corrected by Pope Francis, but this, we know will not happen.  vtb

"The disturbing decades-long decline in church rolls along with the growth of the “nones” and rise of the “dones” has led me to believe that the most urgent business of the Church is not the evangelization of the lost, as important as that is, but the re-evangelization of the “saved.”

"Do the U.S. Catholic bishops feel any obligation to support measures that would protect Americans from jihad attacks? Apparently not. The message that the bishops are sending to Americans is simple: drop dead. The U.S. Catholic bishops appear to be absolutely unconcerned about the following facts..."

Commentary:  Bishops in the United States have for the most part, become a Wing of the radical, liberal Democratic Party.  They lack the wisdom to lead the Church in a way that deepens the faith of the average Catholic.  Instead, they follow Pope Francis and engage in Left Wing politics to pursue their frequent attacks against President Trump, even to the point of encouraging immigrants to break our border laws and enter our country illegally.  What a disgrace these bishops are to the Church!   vtb

"THE Pope can be confusing, his words ambiguous, his thoughts incomplete. There are many rumors, suspicions, and accusations that the current Pontiff is trying to change Catholic teaching. So, for the record, here is Pope Francis…"

"Today, Francis is increasingly embattled. The political climate has shifted abruptly around the world, empowering populists and nationalists who oppose much of what he stands for. Conservative forces arrayed against him within the Vatican have been emboldened, seeking to thwart him on multiple fronts...But even they concede that Francis’ message has fallen decidedly out of sync with the prevailing political times, in contrast to, say, Pope John Paul II, who provided the spiritual dimension for Ronald Reagan and Margaret Thatcher’s battle against communism."

Commentary:  While many acknowledge the good things Francis says and has accomplished when guided by the Holy Spirit, there are a number of moral issues he has failed to clarify that have brought about confusion and division in the Church.  Unfortunately, these issues are basically dismissed by the authors of the above two articles.  Therefore, a more complete picture of this misguided pope must be looked at in order to arrive at an accurate description of his papacy.  vtb

" The speaker of the House, who is himself a Catholic, is receiving backlash over his decision to expel a Jesuit priest who endorses homosexuality and gay "marriage"...a Youtube video reveals that Conroy is a supporter of homosexuality and gay "marriage." He begs his listeners to ask the following questions: "how might God be present in the homosexual experience, how might God be present in homosexual relationships, how might the world be gifted by God or gifted by the Holy Spirit with the presence of gays and lesbians in our midst?"   He also blasts the Catechism of the Catholic Church's teaching regarding homosexual acts, saying, it's "self-evident" that "human sexuality isn't just about" procreation. "It's about so much more."  The catechism affirms that homosexual persons must "be accepted with respect, compassion and sensitivity" and under no circumstances can their actions that are "acts of grave depravity" and are "contrary to the natural law" be approved.

Commentary: This man is not a true priest of the Catholic Church.  His views on homosexuality are contrary to the traditional teachings of the Church and those in the Holy Bible.  Unfortunately, he is another product of the false teachings of Pope Francis (with the exception of homosexual "marriage" which is not a true marriage in the Eyes of Almighty God) - thankfully, even our liberal pope does not approve of it.  vtb

"The family went to court for permission to take their child to Italy for further treatment. The Pope and Italian government recently gotten involved and offered to treat Alfie at Vatican’s Bambino Gesu Children’s Hospital at no cost to the NHS. The Italian Defense Ministry has stated they have a plane on standby ready to retrieve the boy and bring him to the Vatican.  The NHS denied the family’s request to move their son, and by mid-afternoon, on April 25 the family lost their petition to the Court of Appeals. The three judges rejected the families appeal backing the decision of the High Court the previous day. The decision is a death sentence for the child."

"LIVERPOOL, England, April 28, 2018 — Alfie Evans died today in a Liverpool children’s hospital at  2:30 a.m. local time.  Despite last-minute interventions, including the Italian government’s gift of citizenship to the infant, the child died four days after doctors at the Alder Hey NHS (National Health Service) Foundation ignored his parents’ wishes and removed him from a ventilator.  His mother Kate James informed well-wishers of the boy’s death by posting a message on the “Alfie’s Army Official” Facebook page.  “Our baby boy grew his wings tonight at 2:30 am,” the young mother wrote. “We are heart broken. Thank you everyone for all your support.”  “My gladiator lay down his shield and gained his wings at 02:30... absolutely heartbroken... I LOVE YOU MY GUY,” Thomas Evans said."

"St. John Paul II had a long-standing devotion to Our Lady of Fatima, and in 1984 he consecrated the whole world to the Immaculate Heart of Mary. "The speech has aroused considerable consternation among enlightened Catholics - those loyal to traditionalist principles regarding bioethics and family values. Macron’s soothing double-talk did not entirely fool them.  The speech has confused many of those Frenchmen who remain dedicated to the 1905 law establishing the separation of Church and State. For the French president appeared to be moving in a direction of closer ties between the two, something no president has done in recent memory. Having admitted that the ties between Church and State had been broken, he declared that they must be repaired. What can his purpose be?  The most lucid reactions all concur that Macron is attempting to “seduce” the Catholics of France into believing that their voice really counts and that they have a role to play in the governance of the State. Not necessarily as politicians but as Catholic watchdogs who defend their traditional positions on a variety of issues. Besides bioethics, and family values, this includes immigration."

"She did it with tax reform, now she’s at it again with the 2018 Farm Bill: Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi is misleading everyday Americans with false rhetoric.  Honestly...we’ve had enough. Partisanship is one thing, fundamental policy differences are one thing, but spreading total misinformation about critical legislation is just low."

"The confusion among the faithful—the sense of disorientation—is real. Regrettably, Pope Francis has compounded the problem with his acerbic criticism of the “rigid” Catholics, the “doctors of the law,” the daily Mass-goers, reverent altar-boys, rabbit-like breeders, pro-lifers, and defenders of marriage. These comments—and the nastier remarks by the Pope’s energetic champions on the social media—may bring a sympathetic smirk to the faces of liberal Catholics with master’s degrees from summer theology workshops. But they rattle the simple believers."

"PHILADELPHIA, Pennsylvania, April 25, 2018  – The fundamental truths about the nature of marriage are under a “diabolical” and “ferocious” attack today, Cardinal Raymond Burke told hundreds of Catholics at Philadelphia’s Cathedral of Saints Peter and Paul on Saturday."

"Roman Catholic Archbishop Salvatore Cordileone of San Francisco gave a talk at Benedictine College in Atchison, Kan., on March 24, in which he said that the “worst thing” Catholics can do in trying to spread their faith is to “soften or downplay the hard parts” of it...“That is why the worst thing we can do, if we truly want to fulfill our reason for being as Catholics, is to soften or downplay the hard parts of our faith, those teachings where we encounter the most resistance and even hostility in the culture,” said Cordileone.

"Political passivity has long been a charge leveled against Christianity, primarily by the politically hyperactive left. If God controls everything and decrees arrangements as they are, and if he dispenses ultimate justice only in the afterlife, what is the point in mobilizing politically to right the wrongs of this world? Just endure your fate quietly, and you will get your reward. Rebel, and God will send you to hell. Romans 13 is taken as the locus classicus: “The powers that be are ordained of God. Whosoever therefore resisteth the power, resisteth the ordinance of God: and they that resist shall receive to themselves damnation.”

"If priests in the so-called Age of Enlightenment were sorcerers like Beulah the Witch before she came to her senses, there is the contradictory figure of Pope Benedict XIV who threw down no broom but raised a crozier in the name of the Divine Logos who “came to testify about the Light” (John 1:9). This Prospero Lorenzo Lambertini (1675 – 1758) was born in Bologna, where his tutors set him on a course that would shape him as one of the greatest scholars in the history of the papacy."

"Jesus is the Good Shepherd, but He doesn’t intend to do all the work on His own; by virtue of our baptism, each one of us has a role to play in the mission of the Church. By being humble, prayerful, and open to God’s grace, we’ll discover our own unique calling; we’ll be given opportunities each day to answer this call, and be given the wisdom, courage, and strength we need to embrace it, while helping others do the same. The Lord wants us to live as faithful members of His flock, and our efforts to do so will please Him and prepare us for the joy of everlasting life."

"Many today have reduced Holy Communion to a mere sign of hospitality, such that if the Church does not extend it to all, we are being unkind. This misconception is often based on a mistaken understanding of the nature of the Last Supper (and the Eucharist that proceeds from it)."

"WASHINGTON - President Donald Trump on Friday placed himself at the center of the remarkable summit between the leaders of North and South Korea, taking credit for bold and innovative diplomacy that may open a path to peace where other leaders failed.  "It's certainly something that I hope I can do for the world," Trump said. "This is beyond the United States. This is a world problem, and it's something that I hope I'm able to do for the world."  The dramatic turn of events on the Korean Peninsula was the capstone to a week that crystallized the ways Trump has established his foreign policy approach as one that rests largely on the pride he takes in busting the old conventions of diplomatic negotiations and remaking them in his image.  The world is adjusting."

"Trump tweeted Friday, "KOREAN WAR TO END!" and said the U.S. "should be very proud of what is now taking place in Korea!" "According to the 2018 "Rich States, Poor States" scorecard on economic performance, Connecticut ranked last among the 50 states. Connecticut's economy under performs on job growth and income creation. We're the only New England state not to achieve full job recovery after the recession. In 2017, our job growth ranked 43rd nationally. Consumer spending power fell last year, too, and is likely to fall again in 2018."

"The investigation began with bipartisan promise but ultimately succumbed to factional squabbling. Republicans had already announced the main findings last month. Commentary: Slandering the President has become common for Democrats.  They & the press are complaining that it was a "Republican lead panel" that cleared Trump.  However, no mention is made of the Mueller investigation committee that is made up entirely of Democrats.  Hypocrites have controlled the Democratic Party and the press for decades and the evidence is displayed daily.  vtb

"The Israeli army said around 10,000 people had taken part in the “violent riots" along the border, with troops responding with riot dispersal means. "Los Angeles Archbishop José Gomez, 66, "presided" the New Mass.  Villaraigosa is a former mayor of Los Angeles and is running for the 2018 California gubernatorial election.  He is a known womaniser who had many public affairs, fathered four children from three women, and is a remarried divorcee."

Commentary:  This is another result of the lack of leadership Catholics are experiencing from our spiritually weak, misguided liberal pope.   vtb

"OTTAWA, April 27, 2018 — A Conservative politician slammed Prime Minister Justin Trudeau this week for essentially accusing a Christian farm that provides holidays to poor families of attacking the Charter of Rights and Freedoms for not supporting abortion.  During the heated Question Period, Carleton MP Pierre Poilievre hammered Trudeau about Waupoos Farm, a “charity in my riding that provides free vacations to poor families who would not otherwise afford one.”

"We all must contend with the three great foes: the world, the flesh and the Devil.  Back to my priestly writer.   Given the trials and risks, the sight of the faithful kneeling at the altar rail to receive with such reverence, reminds us that what we do, what they are doing, is of the greatest importance.  The reverence of the people in that humble and reverent way of receiving can be extremely helpful for priests.  Do you, dear lay readers, think about that at all?  If how the priest celebrates Mass, has an effect on you, doesn’t it make sense that your comportment and actions, your participation will have an effect on the priest?"

Pope Francis co-presided on April 24, 2018 a New Mass in Santa Marta with the nine cardinals who are members of his council.  In his homily, Francis railed again against “doctors of the law” denouncing their “rigidity” and “close-mindedness”.  He then complained that there are “oppositions to novelties and changes”.  Francis' polemics reminded of anti-Catholic street propaganda which disparages faithfulness as "rigidity" and logical thinking as "close-mindedness". At the same time heresy is branded as "change" and lapsing into the old mistakes as "novelties."

"Bishop Gerhard Feige of Magdeburg, Germany, defended Protestant Communion while brutally attacking critics.  Talking to Christ & Welt (April 26), Feige even said that it would be “macabre” and “shameful” to miss the present “chance”.  He vilifies the seven German bishops who called on Rome to clarify the matter calling them “attached to a pre-conciliar view of the Church."  Feige mentioned that the majority of bishops did not want to send the document allowing Protestant Communion to the Vatican for approval.."

"Benedict XVI has given “his full support to the seven bishops and their letter to the Vatican” against Protestant Communion, reports Edward Pentin...In February, the [totally decadent] German bishops’ conference "allowed" Protestants to receive Holy Communion.  But seven bishops oppose the move and called on Rome for clarification [which probably will never be given]."

Commentary:  Pope Benedict XVI is suffering as he witnesses the Church being divided instead of ONE HOLY CATHOLIC &  APOSTOLIC CHURCH.  Does he realize Francis is the cause of this turmoil?   Many feel he does, but avoids interfering in order to prevent further confusing the faithful.  vtb

"Only the witness herself, Melanie, can, along with Maximin, give an account of the apparition. After giving it by word of mouth an incalculable number of times, she decided to write it all down in 1878. "What I have not accomplished by blessings and gifts, I will accomplish by judgment and purification.  My people, My Church is desperately in need of this judgment.  They have continued in an adulterous relationship with the spirit of this world.  They are not only infected with sin, but they teach sin, pamper sin, embrace sin, dismiss sin… Leadership unable to handle it… fragmentation, confusion throughout the ranks."

Deeper, more painful and more deadly than those of this millennium’, referring to … communism and Nazi totalitarianism. ‘It’s called Islamism. They will invade Europe. I saw the hordes coming from the West to the East’, and he described to me the countries one by one: from Morocco to Libya to Egypt, and so on to the eastern parts. The Holy Father added, ‘They will invade Europe, Europe will be like a cellar, old relics, shadowy, cobwebs. Family heirlooms. You, the Church of the third millennium, will have to contain the invasion. Not with armies, armies will not suffice, but with your faith, lived with integrity.’”

"Because of tax reform, around April 15, 2019, filing your taxes will be simpler. All those hours and dollars spent sifting through forms and organizing receipts will be yours again. That’s more time spent with family and a little extra cushion for your wallet.  And what’s better than a little extra time and cash? Thanks to the Tax Cuts & Jobs Act, our new tax code has lower individual tax rates, an increased standard deduction, and much, much more.  With these new changes, you will see more money next year. Tax Day 2019 will be a much happier day than this year as you will get to keep more of your hard-earned cash."

"The increase in the atmospheric trace gas of CO2 has so far failed to deliver the catastrophic consequences predicted by the alarmists like Al Gore.  The headlines about "the end of snow" are now an embarrassment after a winter of abundant frozen precipitation.  At least a  decade ago, the fraudsters relabeled their purported peril "climate change," allowing any unusual weather to be blamed on mankind's use of fossil fuels."

"Thus building a wall of separation between church and state” is arguably the most abused phrase in American history. This one sentence from Jefferson’s personal correspondence has been uprooted from its original context, used to bludgeon people of faith into civic silence, and even advance government intrusion into the homes of the faithful."

Commentary: The writer of the above article sees no wrong in the confusion and division Pope Francis has caused within and outside the Church.  His so-called "Catholic credentials" are therefore very much in doubt.  Trump has his faults, but he has become the main moral force in the United States and is not being given credit for it, especially for his pro-life accomplishments.  He is more persecuted than Pope Francis, and that should not be if Francis were always preaching the truth.  vtb

"Perhaps you notice, though, that they were at the helm of a growing Church, and in contrast, we are suffering steady erosion. Despite our claims to be relevant, sensitive, and welcoming, we fail to connect with people and keep them. Many do not find our message compelling, relevant, or helpful. Maybe the ancients knew something that we have forgotten: “If you don’t know the bad news, the good news is no news.”

March 2016 - "The Pope Benedict XVI breaks silence and affirms that Vatican Council II was a disaster for the Catholic Church."

Commentary:  It is difficult to say with any certainty that the view of the person who wrote the title and explanation accurately expressed what Pope Benedict XVI said.  My review of the video showed that Benedict certainly did not use the word "disaster."  In addition, (if this too is accurate) for Benedict to say a soul is "lost" if the person is not baptized seems very extreme.  And for Benedict to indicate that the "motivation" to baptize people was diminished by Vatican II writings, that too is open to debate.

Only Almighty God can judge those who have not been baptized as to whether or not they are "lost."  There is a "baptism of desire," as well as the fact that many millions and billions of people of non-Christian religions were not, and continue to be unaware of the need for baptism.  Were they lost, and are those now living also lost?  No.  Almighty God is not that harsh a Judge.  (See below quotes from the Catholic Catholicism).

Baptism remains a necessary Sacrament as it is the "core" Sacrament from which sanctifying grace "ignites" the other Sacraments.  Christ himself was baptized.  It therefore is critical for Christians to be baptized in order to develop a close relation with Christ in additional to the other reasons shown in the Catholic Catholicism.   vtb

"The Lord himself affirms that Baptism is necessary for salvation.   He also commands his disciples to proclaim the Gospel to all nations and to baptize them.  Baptism is necessary for salvation FOR THOSE TO  WHOM THE GOSPEL HAS BEEN PROCLAIMED AND WHO HAVE HAD THE POSSIBILITY OF ASKING FOR THIS SACRAMENT.  The Church does not know of any means other than Baptism that assures entry into eternal beatitude; this is why she takes care not to neglect the mission she has received from the Lord to see that all who can be baptized are "reborn of water and the Spirit." God has bound salvation to the sacrament of Baptism, but he himself is not bound by his sacraments."

"By Baptism all sins are forgiven, original sin and all personal sins, as well as all punishment for sin. In those who have been reborn nothing remains that would impede their entry into the Kingdom of God, neither Adam's sin, nor personal sin, nor the consequences of sin, the gravest of which is separation from God."

"The Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith has rejected the plan of the German Bishops to allow Protestants to receive Holy Communion, reports kath.net (April 18).  The bishops voted in February by a large majority in favour of the sacrilege.  However, seven bishops questioned the decision in the Vatican.  Now the Congregation rejected the German idea with the approval of Pope Francis. The negative decision is already sent to the German bishops.  This is a major blow to Munich Cardinal Reinhard Marx, the president of the Bishops' Conference and member of Pope Francis' council of cardinals."

"The press speaker of the German bishops writing on dbk.de (April 19) has denied that the Vatican rejected the decision of the German bishops to give communion to Protestants.  According to him reports which say the opposite, are “false”.  The denial confirms that Munich Cardinal Reinhard Marx will be meeting Pope Francis to discuss the matter.  The outcome of the meeting is predictable: Francis will create confusion allowing all parties to claim that he is on their side while accepting Protestant Communion.  Protestant Communion has been imposed in the "Catholic" Church in Germany for decades. A Catholic priest who would refuse to do this, would not be able to retain his position."

"Fr Francois-Marie Dermine O.P, said that people involved in the occult, including tarot card readers and witches, “do it through the intervention of demons."  “It’s the devil," he said, warning that those who visit mediums are often trying to resolve one problem, but in doing so“will provoke many more problems [in their lives]."  When asked whether the Church takes the devil seriously, Fr Dermine said he thought the Church’s orientation was “too intellectual” and that clergy were not preaching enough on the “personal action of the devil." He added:“The formation in the seminaries is absent on this problem.”  “We are not fighting only against our bad tendencies,’ he continued, “we are fighting against someone – who hates humanity, hates God.”

“In the early years, Jihad will seem the great battle. Certainly, it is the most showy and determined. But it will collapse more quickly and easily than people can imagine – once we understand that it is a battle that we can’t negotiate our way out of. But Jihad is not the most dangerous of the bad actors – it is China. It will take some years for us to see that China is the real center and the real implacable enemy of western civilization. China may already be the most militarily strong nation in the world. It will be the challenge posed by China, once she is fully unmasked, that drives Russia into the west and common cause with America...Meanwhile, the alleged Ukrainian mystic Josyp Terelya foresaw war between Russia and China, while Maria Esperanza of Venezuela foresaw a day when the “yellow races will rise up.”

"Shrimpton thinks that the White Rose students stand out because “they were not political activists. They came from well-heeled backgrounds and were highly educated. They appeared model Germans and products of good breeding. It was puzzling to the authorities that students with such impeccable Aryan credentials should be accused of spreading rebellion.”  He believes that the reason why several hundred schools, streets and squares in Germany are named after the two students is “their attractive human qualities, their commitment to non-violent resistance and their willingness to stand up for what was right, even at the risk of their lives and when virtually no-one else was prepared to do so. Now they have the status of martyrs.”

"The first one to demand the poster's removal was Democratic Party Senator Monica Cirinnà, champion of LGBT rights and author of the bill that eventually sanctioned homosexual civil unions in Italy. The senator deemed the campaign "shameful," claiming it "disrespected State law." Many recall that Cirinnà restlessly campaigns for surrogacy, illegal in Italy and condemned by the European Union, therefore some believe her pleas to validate the purchase of human beings should be forbidden, as they "disrespect State law."

“The intersection of the homosexuality and pro-abortion movements lies beneath the sexual transformation of our culture,” she said. “You may have thought these were separate issues, but they are foundationally connected first at the element of human design.”

"Much of the confusion today is thanks to a bunch of ignorant, self-indulgent young people back in the 60s with an over-abundance of hubris. Too many in my generation thought they were smarter than God. And even though many of them are now senior citizens they seem to have never really grown or grown up.  If there is one learn lesson these young people should learn from my generation it is that Hubris – high self-esteem – is not a good thing.

The very first beatitude Jesus gives us in the Sermon on the Mount is“Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.”Poor in spirit means ‘humble.’  The world would be a much better place if more people practiced this virtue."

"Pope St. Pius X responded to the greatest challenges of faith and truth of that age. Times have changed and these challenges have also changed. Modernism is still present in the Church and in the world, but growing out of it, the emphasis has been put on the moral issues of family, marriage...

"I condemn any attempt to redefine marriage. In accordance with the will of God and the nature of man, I only recognize the lifelong, monogamous relationship of a man and a woman open to children as marriage. Under no circumstances do I recognize the relationship of homo-, bi-, transsexuals etc. as marriage. By doing so, I do not discriminate against them, only protect the institution on which the individual and society are based and without which the individual and society will collapse."

"The bottom line is that the subpoenas cannot resolve any constitutional questions, but instead are intended to intimidate and cause hardship, he said.  “Their intent is clear — to intimidate FRC and our supporters from standing up for our military service members. "WASHINGTON — Speaker Paul Ryan said he doesn’t believe there is a need for Congress to pass any kind of legislation aimed at protecting special counsel Robert Mueller from termination.  “I don't think it's necessary,” the Wisconsin Republican said during an interview that aired Sunday on NBC’s “Meet the Press” when specifically asked whether he would bring such a bill to the House floor if it passed the Senate. “I don't think he's going to fire Mueller.”

Commentary:  It naturally follows that deceitful Democrats would want Mueller to continue his misguided investigations of Trump and/or members of his administration.  The Mueller committee is made up entirely of Democrats and you cannot get any more one-sided than that.  If  Republicans were to form a committee to investigate Hillary Clinton that would be made up entirely of Republicans you would see the biased news media (NBC among them) and members of the Democratic Party crying "foul" day & night.  Such is the corrupt moral state of the dysfunctional  Democratic Party & its followers.  vtb

"Ms Halligan was speaking to the Irish Independent at a conference for Catholic reform groups at the weekend ahead of the World Meeting of Families (WMOF) in Dublin in August.  She said the Church's teaching on same-sex relationships was "deeply insulting and offensive".  "As a gay person, I don't want pastoral care from the Church. Pastoral care only brings comfort to the Church," she said.  "I reject the Church's teaching that gay people are 'objectively disordered' and that our love is 'intrinsically evil'."  Ms Halligan, who attended the conference as a delegate, described herself as a "person of faith and a committed Catholic."

Commentary: "Committed Catholics" should be aware of what is revealed in the Holy Bible:

"Because of this, God gave them over to shameful lusts. Even their WOMEN  exchanged natural sexual relations for unnatural ones.  In the same way the MEN  also abandoned natural relations with women and were inflamed with lust for one another. Men committed shameful acts with other men, and received in themselves the due penalty for their error.  Furthermore, just as they did not think it worthwhile to retain the knowledge of God, so God gave them over to a depraved mind, so that they do what ought not to be done."
Romans 1:26-28

"Though you already know all this, I want to remind you that the Lord at one time delivered his people out of Egypt, but later destroyed those who did not believe.  And the angels who did not keep their positions of authority but abandoned their proper dwelling—these he has kept in darkness, bound with everlasting chains for judgment on the great Day.  In a similar way, Sodom and Gomorrah and the surrounding towns gave themselves up to sexual immorality and perversion.  They serve as an example of those who suffer the punishment of eternal fire.  In the very same way, on the strength of their dreams these ungodly people pollute their own bodies, reject authority and heap abuse on celestial beings."

"US, UK and French forces launch missile strikes aimed at reducing the Syrian regime’s chemical weapons facilities after last weekend’s attack on the Damascus suburb of Douma."

"The Russian military has claimed that the Syrian air defenses, whose most modern weapon is a three-decades-old Russian-supplied anti-aircraft system, shot down 71 of 103 missiles fired by the US and its allies, the UK and France, a claim denied by the Pentagon.  As further details began to emerge about the sites targeted by the US-led strikes, Col Gen Sergei Rudskoi of the Russian military said the strikes had not caused any casualties and that Syrian military facilities suffered only minor damage.  It was not possible to verify the claims. The most up-to-date system that Moscow has supplied to the Syrian regime is the short range Pantsir S-1, which has an anti-missile capability."

"To Iran and to Russia, I ask: What kind of a nation wants to be associated with the mass murder of innocent men, women and children? The nations of the world can be judged by the friends they keep.  No nation can succeed in the long run by promoting rogue states, brutal tyrants and murderous dictators. In 2013, President Putin and his government promised the world that they would guarantee the elimination of Syria’s chemical weapons. Assad’s recent attack and today’s response are the direct result of Russia’s failure to keep that promise."

"ROMA, TEXAS - Stymied by Congress and the courts, President Donald Trump has struggled to make good on his signature campaign promises to build a wall and stop migrants. "Bergoglio visit the gay couple while he was in Washington D.C.  Instead of repenting after his meeting with Bergoglio he openly promotes the vice of sodomy and much worse.  He also says he credits his mentor Bergoglio for his open and progressive thinking; giving thanks to Bergoglio's “education” (gay affirmative psychology). He is stressing that Bergoglio has known since he was a teenager that he is gay and never questioned his sexuality or his homosexual relationship."

“The future of the Church can and will issue from those whose roots are deep and who live from the pure fullness of their faith. It will not issue from those who accommodate themselves merely to the passing moment or from those who merely criticize others and assume that they themselves are infallible measuring rods; nor will it issue from those who take the easier road, who sidestep the passion of faith, declaring false and obsolete, tyrannous and legalistic, all that makes demands upon men, that hurts them and compels them to sacrifice themselves. To put this more positively: The future of the Church, once again as always, will be reshaped by saints, by men, that is, whose minds probe deeper than the slogans of the day, who see more than others see, because their lives embrace a wider reality."

In 2014, the union gave $400,000 to the organization’s PAC, which works to elect pro-abortion candidates."

"The U.K. has never had a serious problem with firearms-related crimes, but that’s not because it has strict gun laws. Further, disarming British citizens did not make the country safer—in fact, in some cases it made it much less safe.  First, it’s important to note that comparisons of homicide rates between the United States and the United Kingdom are difficult because since 1967, the U.K.’s official definition of homicide for crime reports has been relatively unconcerned with the actual number of dead bodies."

"In an interview with Aid to the Church in Need, the Catholic charity for persecuted and other suffering Christians, Asso parish priest Father Alexander Yeyock stated: “The sad implication of [these attacks] is mass murder for Christians in the northern part of Nigeria, especially the north-east and middle-belt regions.”  Stating that extremists in Nigeria were pushing for “an Islamic state and Shari‘a rule”, the priest told: “The attack has two dimensions. The first is to Islamise the Christian community. It is a jihadist crusade in a subtle manner."

"President Donald Trump said he launched targeted missile strikes with France and the U.K. on Syria in retaliation for an apparent chemical attack by the regime of Bashar al-Assad on a rebel town.  Trump said the missile strikes were focused on chemical weapons sites and he made clear that the U.S. is prepared to sustain the strikes until Syria stops using those weapons.  “The purpose of our actions tonight is to establish a strong deterrent against the production, spread and use of chemical weapons,” he said in a televised address from the White House. “We are prepared to sustain this response until the Syrian regime stops its use of its use of prohibited chemical agents.”

"A spokesman for Russia's defense ministry accused the UK of being involved in staging the attack.  The US and France say they have proof it took place and, alongside the UK, are considering military retaliation.  Russia, which has military forces deployed in Syria in support of the government, has warned that Western air strikes risk starting a war.  During a press briefing on Friday, Mr Lavrov said he had "irrefutable evidence" that the attack was staged as part of a "Russophobic campaign" led by one country, which he did not name."

"Though there are plenty of questions regarding what comes next in Syria, there are few answers. "A Catholic priest who has been performing exorcisms for 10 years says that demand for exorcists is on the rise as more and more pastors become convinced that the devil is real and needs to be fought...The presence of the devil becomes apparent, the priest said, when a person does what is humanly impossible, such as performing feats of superhuman strength or suddenly speaking in Hebrew or Aramaic despite never having studied the languages.  Other times their voice changes and they growl or speak in tongues, he said, while some reveal knowledge of “secret things,” such as what a person who is not present is doing or wearing. People who are possessed can be overwhelmed by feelings of discomfort when they are in places of worship, he said.  In one particular case cited by the priest the devil spoke to him directly. The possessed person “said, ‘I am the prince of this world, I am Satan’, and the hairs on my arms went up. When you listen to a satanic growl, once you listen to the devil’s voice, you can recognize ”he said.

"During his visit to Chile in January, Pope Francis asked forgiveness for the sexual abuse committed by some priests in Chile.  “I feel bound to express my pain and shame at the irreparable damage caused to children by some of the ministers of the Church,” he said.  However, speaking to reporters, he pledged his support for Bishop Barros and said: “The day they bring me proof against Bishop Barros, I will speak. There is not one piece of evidence against him. It is calumny.”  He later apologized to the victims and admitted that his choice of words wounded many."

Commentary:  Pope Francis prefers to be considered a "MAN OF THE PEOPLE" since he involves himself in the internal affairs of many countries.  However, a far better way to live your life is to be considered a "MAN OF GOD" and in that area he is at times, lacking.   vtb

"Referring to a recent investigation of abuse cover-up in Chile carried out by Archbishop Charles Scicluna of Malta, Pope Francis said that after a “slow reading” of the report, “I can affirm that all the testimonies collected speak in a stark manner, without additives or sweeteners, of many crucified lives and I confess that this has caused me pain and shame.”  Francis admitted to misjudging the severity of the affair, telling Chile's bishops that “I have made serious mistakes in the judgement and perception of the situation, especially due to a lack of truthful and balanced information.”

Commentary:  No pope should put himself in a situation that requires an apology.  We know that "he is only human," but Supreme Pontiffs should always weigh their words very carefully and not speak "off the top of their heads."  Of course, this requires prudence, patience, and a high degree of holiness.  Sadly, these virtues are not always visible in Pope Francis.  vtb

"Liberalism is a sin, Sarda concludes. “Liberalism strikes at the very foundations of faith. It is heresy radical and universal, because within it are comprehended all heresies …. It repudiates dogma altogether and substitutes opinion. If we were to examine in detail all the doctrines or dogmas which within the range of Liberalism have been denied, we would find every Christian dogma in one way or another rejected – from the dogma of the Incarnation to that of Infallibility.” Yet Liberalism exercises its own dogmatic and infallible authority when it asserts that all true knowledge is subject to the scrutiny of human reason, and knowledge not subject to that scrutiny is not even considered knowledge; it is merely the product of vain imaginings. All the ancient mysteries of religion are thus supposedly refuted. This, Sarda argues, is the unbridled arrogance of liberalism."

"Pope Saint John Paul II forewarned decades ago that priests, and indeed the Catholic Church herself, would pay a "high price" on account of remaining faithful to the Church’s perennial teaching on marriage and procreation.  The late pontiff said as well it would be a “very serious mistake” to presume that Catholic teaching on marriage is but an “ideal” in need of modification."

"My point, in conclusion, is that while I certainly have benefited in some ways from reading Gaudete et Exsultate, the good qualities and substantive passages in documents and texts such as this are increasingly overshadowed, or even undermined, by the grave tensions and growing conflicts within the Church. Especially since, sadly, Pope Francis and his closest collaborators have not only failed to address those tensions and conflicts, they have played a significant role in exacerbating and deepening them. They do appear to be take pleasure in “taking aim” at Catholics they deem to be too dogmatic, rigid, and focused on liturgy.  It is a shame that this has continued in this apostolic exhortation on holiness but it is not, I’m sorry to say, too much of a surprise."

Former CIA Director and Defense Secretary Robert Gates famously wrote in his memoir that Joe Biden “has been wrong on nearly every major foreign policy and national security issue over the past four decades.” Now that the former vice president is considering yet another presidential run, voters should always remember some of Amtrak Joe’s golden oldies, including: dismissing North Korea as a “paper tiger”, stating that the Taliban is not America’s enemy, and embracing China’s one-child policy. But, it would be hard to name another sitting vice president whose reckless nepotism impacted another country, as Biden did with Ukraine."

"...it is not in America’s interest to simply ignore Assad’s repeated chemical weapons use, or to empower his regime — at the expense of our regional allies. That would actually force America to expand its role in the Mideast at precisely the time it needs to reduce its physical presence there. Thus, a retaliatory — proportional — strike against Assad for his chemical weapons attack would be a justified use of American force (and would actually solidify America’s position in the region, without expanding our role there)."

"A former ambassador provides some advice for Vatican officials negotiating with China."

"As establishment neoconservatives, liberals, and globalists all demand deeper U.S. involvement in Syria's establishment-fueled civil war, much of President Donald Trump's base continues to advocate a total withdrawal of U.S. military forces from the region. Meanwhile, Trump said he is considering all options for how to deal with Syria after the reported chemical weapons attack. But first, the president suggested he wanted to know what happened in the highly suspicious attack, which came not long after Trump suggested that American troops in Syria would soon be coming home."

"Russia on Tuesday vetoed a U.S.-led resolution to establish a process for investigating the apparent chemical weapons attack in Syria, during the second consecutive day of debate on the incident at the United Nations Security Council.  "Russia will not be able to support the American draft,” Vasily Nebenzia, Russian ambassador to the U.N., said Tuesday just before the vote."

"What are these sources of happiness and meaning? It turns out to be family, taking on responsibility and trying to cultivate yourself to become a better person and live up to your potential – which is a spiritual quest.  The left, however, has taken the exact opposite route. It promoted unearned rights, hedonism and the dissolution of the family.  Of course, it doesn’t work. Leftists are left hollow and unhappy from their empty pursuit of pleasure."

"The training area, located in the international waters of the Mediterranean, is adjacent to the sea border of Syria. It will be closed on 11-12, 17-19 and 25-26 April from 10 to 18 Moscow time.  Currently, as part of the permanent operational connection of the Russian Navy in the Mediterranean Sea, there are about 15 warships and vessels providing the Black Sea Fleet, including the carriers of the Caliber cruise missiles Frigates Admiral Grigorovich and Admiral Essen, as well as submarines that repeatedly struck at the targets of terrorists in Syria."

"Communion for Protestants has split the German Church – and now it's the Vatican's problem."

"At a time when sound catechesis and evangelization could have impacted the largest generation of high school and college aged Catholics in the history of the US, misinformation, confusion and outright heresy prevailed in many classrooms and too many Catholic churches across the country."

"A county-run needle exchange program hosted in a Catholic hospital’s parking lot has stopped distributing condoms, following action from Archbishop Dennis Schnurr and the Archdiocese of Cincinnati.  “This matter was addressed and favorably resolved last week, as soon as it came to the attention of the archdiocese,” Mike Schafer, director of the archdiocese’s communication and mission promotion department, told CNA April 9.  “Condom distribution is no longer part of the Hamilton County Public Health Harm Reduction Program, run from their van parked in the Mercy Health – Clermont Hospital parking lot,” he said. “Archbishop Schnurr engaged with Mercy Health leadership on this issue, with the resulting decision being to disallow condom distribution on hospital property.”

Commentary:  Unfortunately, many so-called "Catholic" hospitals are now run by those of other faiths.  Even many Chaplins are no longer priests or deacons.  Statues have also been removed to please those of other faiths and those who have no faith.  Sadly, with the approval of many spiritually weak bishops, many once "Catholic hospitals" have lost their Catholic identity.   vtb

"The structural changes which have been taking place within Catholic health care in recent years have increased the challenge of preserving and even strengthening the CATHOLIC IDENTITY of the institutions and the spiritual quality of the services given. The presence of dedicated women and men religious in hospitals and nursing homes has ensured in the past, and continues to ensure in the present, that spiritual dimension so characteristic of Catholic health care centers. The reduced number of religious and new forms of ownership and management SHOULD NOT LEAD TO A LOSS OF A SPIRITUAL ATMOSPHERE,  or to a loss of a sense of vocation in caring for the sick. This is an area in which the Catholic laity, at all levels of health care, have an opportunity to manifest the depth of their faith and to play their own specific part in the Church’s mission of evangelization and service."

"After several months of consultations with hospital staff, Lambert’s physician Dr. Vincent Sanchez ruled Monday that continuing to feed and hydrate the patient constituted “unreasonable obstinacy” towards the disabled patient and ordered that he be euthanized within ten days, despite the fact that he breathes on his own and his internal organs function normally."

"The London-based Christian Legal Centre has announced that it is stepping in on behalf of 23-month-old Alfie Evans.  On Wednesday, Christian Legal Centre standing counsel Paul Diamond will represent Alfie’s parents, Thomas Evans and Kate James, in a hearing before Justice Anthony Hayden of the High Court of England and Wales, Independent Catholic News reported. They are challenging Alder Hey Children's Hospital, which is seeking permission to remove Alfie’s life support on Thursday. Hayden previously sided with the hospital."

"Trump’s Executive Order on Economic Mobility focuses on ways to increase job opportunities for those in need by “strengthening current work requirements; empowering States, localities, tribal governments, and private-sector entities to serve individuals and families in need; and using taxpayer dollars for their intended purpose, which includes ensuring only eligible persons receive benefits.”
