These two Commandments sum up our entire spiritual life, but how difficult it can be to live by them!
"Thou shalt love the LORD THY GOD with thy WHOLE HEART, and with thy WHOLE SOUL, and with thy WHOLE STRENGTH. And these words which I command thee this day, shall be in THY HEART. And thou shalt tell them to thy CHILDREN, and thou shalt MEDITATE upon them sitting in thy house, and walking on thy journey, sleeping and rising. And thou shalt BIND THEM as a sign on thy hand, and they shall be and shall move between thy eyes. And thou shalt write them in the entry, and on the DOORS OF THY HOUSE" (Deuteronomy 6:5-9).
JESUS: "And the second (Commandment) is like to this: Thou shalt love thy NEIGHBOR as thyself. On these two commandments dependeth the whole law and the prophets" (Matthew 22:37-40).

Spiritual State of Catholic Church in the USA & other Western Nations - "We are now standing in the face of the greatest historical confrontation humanity has gone through. THE GREAT NEED FOR PRAYER - WHY PRAY?
"When one has a heart pure and is united to God, one feels in oneself a balm, a sweetness which intoxicates, a light which dazzles. In this intimate union, God and the soul are like two pieces of wax melted together; they can no longer be separated...It is a happiness that one is not able to understand. Prayer makes time pass with great speed, and so agreeably that one doesn't notice its duration. The more one prays, the more one wishes to pray."
----Saint John Vianney
Please remember the help Our Mother Mary offers us, her dear children, whom she keeps safe in her Immaculate Heart when we stay free of serious sin. When we become discouraged, are tempted by the devil, or need help even in the smallest of things, a powerful prayer to say is: "Blessed Mother help me." She will never fail to respond to your request. As others have, you will increasingly gain confidence in her intercessory power. (I use the above prayer many times during the day along with this short prayer: "Holy Spirit guide me and give me Wisdom and understanding for the Divine Will") - Vincent T. Bemowski.
ADDITIONAL SPIRITUAL TEACHINGS & CHURCH RESOURCES
Cardinal Kung Foundation - "The Chinese Government recognizes only the Catholic Church affiliated with the CCPA or Official Church, which was created and founded by an atheist Chinese government... It does not recognize the administrative, legislative, and judicial authority of the Pope. The Pope does not recognize the CCPA or Official Church as a part of the universal Roman Catholic Church..." Catholic Prophets - "Full Church Approval - Bishops Approval - Under Investigation - Disapproval By Church - Scriptures - Books & Magazines" Catholic Resources - "This website contains a variety of materials, mostly related to biblical and liturgical studies, intended for scholars, teachers, students, pastors, and others."
COALITION ECCLESIA DEI - "Promoting the Traditional Latin Mass as sanctioned by Summorum Pontificum... On July 7, 2007, His Holiness Pope Benedict XVI issued his motu proprio Summorum Pontificum, which allows every priest in the Latin Rite to offer the Traditional Latin Masswithout permission from his bishop, effective September 14, 2007.
This expands upon the pastoral concern expressed by his predecessor, Pope John Paul II, who in 1984 authorized the Traditional Latin Mass of the Roman Rite to be offered with approval of the local bishop. This was the Mass as was said in every Catholic Church around the world until after Vatican II. In his Apostolic Letter Ecclesia Dei, (July 2, 1988), His Holiness expanded this earlier permission: By virtue of my Apostolic Authority I decree ... (that) a wide and generous application' be given the previous directives. The Mass has grown slowly and steadily since that time in the United States."
Conservapedia - "An encyclopedia with articles written from a conservative viewpoint." Courage, an apostolate of the Roman Catholic Church - "Persons with homosexual desires have always been with us; however, until recent times, there has been little, if any, formal outreach from the Church in the way of support groups or information for such persons. Most were left to work out their path on their own. As a result, they found themselves listening to and accepting the secular society's perspective and opting to act on their same-sex desires...." Daily Gospel - "Daily Mass readings e-mailed to you free of charge...run by an international team of lay Catholics and volunteers."
DIGNITY - NOT RECOMMENDED
"Only a truly Roman Catholic organization can challenge the Vatican on sexual ethics, and only an organization actually focused on sexual ethics can mount an effective challenge. Dignity appears to meet these requirements less and less. So I pose again my two questions for consideration, and I add a third: Is the wholesale reform of the church actually Dignity'stask? Is Dignity still Roman Catholic?"
Find The Divine - "Our mission is to provide a place on the Internet where the seekers and providers of the spiritual - religious retreat experience can find each other."
"The essence of the Mass is not changing. But the way it is celebrated will be noticeably different... many of the prayers and responses of the liturgy have been newly translated into English from the original Latin text. In addition, new observances for recently canonized saints, additional prefaces for the Eucharistic prayers, additional Masses for various needs and intentions, and updated instructions for the overall celebration of the Mass will be added. The most significant changes people will notice, however, is the new translation of the actual words of the Mass." (Taken from the Holy Family Parish bulletin, Nov. 5, 2011, Cahokia, Illinois).
Commentary: As older Catholics will remember, these current changes are being made to more accurately conform to the traditional Tridentine (Latin) Mass prayed before, and a few years after Vatican II. However, neither Vatican officials or our bishops are admitting that those changes to the Mass (approved in 1969) were grave errors and should never have been put into place. Therefore, they are also being careful not to even mention the Tridentine Mass. Those changes, along with the approval of the Saturday "afternoon" Mass were designed to "modernize" the Church and please man, but without prayerfully considering that they may offend Almighty God. As a result, those appeasements have greatly contributed to the spiritually lukewarm state of today's Church.
As you are aware, when changes are made in the Church they can cause some members to lose faith. Their "protests" against the authority of the Church may reach the stage where they no longer attend Mass on a regular basis on the weekend, and/or not at all during the week. This is very wrong because they are also turning their back on Jesus.
When we truly profess a high degree of faith, we have a strong desire to receive Jesus through Holy Communion. Therefore, certain weaknesses of our priests or bishops will not prevent us from attending Holy Mass as often as possible. It will cause us to pray more deeply for their souls.
While it is good to be make others aware of the immoral conduct of the clergy so that more prayers are said for them, it is never good to let their conduct dominate or interfere with our spiritual relationship with our Lord to the degree that we leave the Church, avoid attending Mass, or receiving Him in Holy Communion. vtb

These Stone Walls - "Many of the faithful are scandalized yet again when beloved priests disappear in the night, presumed by their shepherds to be guilty of crimes claimed to have occurred two, three, or four decades earlier. Many accused priests have been simply abandoned by their bishops and fellow clergy. Church laws governing their support and defense have been routinely set aside, and many have languished under dark clouds of accusation for years. Some, far too many, have been summarily dismissed from the priesthood at the behest of their bishops without due process or adequate civil or canonical defense." "Jesus, Divine Mercy, The Eucharist + Mary, the Rosary, Catholic Faith." Understanding the Gifts of the Spirit - "Catholic doctrine defines the gifts of the Holy Spirit as 'charisms' and teaches that they are distributed according to God’s Will to renew and build up the Church. The fact that someone has these gifts is not (necessarily) a sign of personal holiness but of the Holy Spirit working in and through him or her. The two important things to remember are that the charisms are given to empower us to perform the work God wants us to do, and that they are granted for the good of the whole Body of Christ."
