NOTE: Due to their importance, some of the first group of the below links will remain posted until after the Presidential election, and others will remain permanently posted. Based upon the evidence as shown in the below links, unless we change, we will experience a severe Chastisement that can be lessened with our prayers, but not eliminated. The Corona Virus is a sample of what lies ahead for us.
"Now the Spirit manifestly saith, that in the LAST TIMES some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to spirits of error, and doctrines of DEVILS, speaking lies in hypocrisy, and having their conscience seared."
1st Epistle of St Paul to Timothy 4:1-2
"It is a characteristic of any decaying civilization that the great masses of the people are unaware of the tragedy.
Humanity in a crises is generally insensitive to the gravity of the times in which it lives. Men do not want to believe their own times are wicked, partly because they have no standard outside of themselves by which to measure their times. If there is no fixed concept of justice, how shall men know it is violated?
Only those who live by FAITH really know what is happening in the world; the great masses without faith are unconscious of the destructive processes going on, because they have lost the vision of the heights from which they have fallen."
---Archbishop Fulton J. Sheen
"The work of the devil will creep even into the Church in such a way that cardinals will be opposed to other cardinals, and bishops against bishops. The priests who venerate me, will be despised and hindered by their brethren...the Church will be full of those who ACCEPT COMPROMISES."
---Our Lady of Akita
“Before Christ’s second coming the Church must pass through a FINAL TRIAL that will shake the faith of many believers… in the form of a religious deception which will be one of apostasy.”
― Catechism of the Catholic Church #675
"We are now standing in the face of the greatest historical confrontation humanity has gone through. I do not think that wide circles of American society or wide circles of the Christian community realize this fully. We are now facing the FINAL confrontation between the Church and the anti-Church, of the Gospel versus the anti-Gospel."
----Pope John Paul II
Padre Pio: "Satan Will Come to Rule a False Church" - "Padre Pio told Father Amorth: "Satan has been introduced into the BOSOM of the Church and he will within a very short time come to rule a false Church." Amorth says that Padre Pio was "really tormented" by one issue that is "the great apostasy within the Church."
COMMENTARY: This does not mean that the current pope, (Pope Francis) is the Anti-Christ in disguise. It appears to be very likely that because Francis has opened the door to a vastly more confused, liberal Church where all kinds of divisions are taking place, he has set the stage for Satan's rule at some point in the future.
"Archbishop Viganò tells of a “project” that “goes back centuries”—“in particular, to the creation in the middle of the 1700s of Freemasonry.” This “very deceptive” plot against the Church included some of her own senior members. “This is described in the book Infiltration by Dr. Taylor Marshall, so you may find some indication of this process there,” says the Archbishop.
He is referring to the bestselling book which argues that, “for over a century, the organizers of Freemasonry, Liberalism, and Modernism infiltrated the Catholic Church in order to change her doctrine, her liturgy, and her mission from something supernatural to something secular.” Viganò believes that this process of infiltration “became strikingly evident in modern times,” and that we are now witnessing the “triumph of a 60-year-old plan” to revolutionize the Church with “a Jesuit on the See of Peter.”
As Viganò recalls, many key Vatican II revolutionaries were Jesuits who maneuvered to replace the council’s prepared schema with ones they had drawn up. Most prominent among them was Fr. Karl Rahner, S.J., frequently touted as the council’s most important ideologue."
DANGEROUS TIMES ARE HERE NOW - "The character of heretics of LATTER DAYS. He exhorts Timothy to constancy. Of the great profit of the knowledge of the scriptures."
"The WARNING" shall be like a revelation of our sins. Those who believe as well as those who do not and persons irrespective of their religion will see it and experience (feel) it.
Conchita's Responses (excerpts):
"The CHASTISEMENT," if we do not CHANGE, will be horrible as we DESERVE. We saw it (Loli, Jacinta and me), but we cannot say what it consists of, because I do not have the Virgin's permission...
If I am in a convent...the Virgin will tell me how to announce The MIRACLE* eight days in advance...
*Footnote: "A miracle is to occur in Garabandal within 12 months after The Warning... It will be on a Thursday at 8:30 p.m. on a feast-day of a martyred Saint for the Eucharist ...( not a feast-day of Our Lady or Our Lord) ... it will happen in the month of April... between the 7th and the 17th of the month but not the 7th or the 17th... it will be seen by looking up over the area of the Pines and will be visible from all the surrounding mountainside which will serve as a "natural" amphitheater. (Note: millions of people could easily fit around the mountain area.) The sick will be cured...the unbelievers will be converted..."
Conchita (continued): "The Warning" will be recognized and accepted by the world as a sign coming directly from God.
In a location, the only one I had with Him (Jesus), Our Lord told me that Russia would be converted.
"The SIGN" that shall remain forever at the Pines (near the village) on the day of "The Miracle" one shall be able to photograph, televise and see. But one will not be able to touch it. One shall see that this is not something that is from the world, but from God.
Regarding her Son's Church and of the Popes, the Virgin said in 1962 that there would be only TWO popes after His Holiness Paul VI.* But this did not mean the world would end after these two popes."
*Footnote: "Conchita said later that there would be THREE popes, but the Blessed Virgin doesn't count one."
Conchita (continued): "She likes it very much that we work to disseminate (spread) her message. That is what Our Lady desires. But she wants us to obey the Church and that will give more glory to God. She will grant us the time for the message to be disseminated with the Church's permission."
BRUTAL: Resurfaced Video of Joe Biden Should Destroy His Campaign - READER'S COMMENTS: "This is BAD for Joe Biden. If the media actually covered the race fairly, Joe would have probably dropped out by now...Shame on him, liar never apologizing for PLAGIARISM. Maybe he can't find an apology speech to plagiarize. Everything he says is hateful lies, deceit."
"In a speech in Ohio President Trump remarked that presumptive Democratic nominee Joe Biden aims to “take away your guns, destroy your Second Amendment,” adding: “No religion, no anything. Hurt the Bible, hurt God. He’s against God, he’s against guns.”
Biden credits those Catholic roots — which first took seed in parishes and parochial schools in Pennsylvania and Delaware — with teaching him the importance of the human dignity of all people, a core principle of Catholic social teaching. They also shaped his understanding of solidarity, especially with the poor and the working class, which he regularly cites when talking about job security and economic policy."
COMMENTARY: Biden is a liar and a hypocrite. He calls himself a "good Catholic," but refuses to follow Church teachings on abortion and other moral issues. To say "he has a good heart," or "we cannot judge his heart," is not the correct way to look at any evil person. Biden approves of the murder of the unborn up to, and even after birth. That is not the mark of a good person, and therefore, for the good of our country, we have a moral obligation to judge the evil in politicians like him.
If you cannot judge evil in a person, your lacking in discernment. Trump is constantly being judged in an unfair manner on just about everything he does, and yet Democrats (and some bishops), believe Biden should not be judged? In addition, although we have some good bishops, some are spiritually weak and occasionally join in with the attacks. Are they guilty of judging Trump's heart? Is it morally right for a bishop or priest to be a Democrat knowing the evil that exists in the Democrat Party? We know it is not, but who is correcting them? Certainly not Pope Francis.
"A Catholic (this includes bishops and priests) would be guilty of FORMAL COOPERATION IN EVIL, and so unworthy to present himself for Holy Communion, if he were to deliberately vote for a candidate precisely because of the candidate’s permissive stand on abortion and/or euthanasia." (This, in a moral sense, includes voting for any politician who favors abortion as part of his or her political views).
---Cardinal Ratzinger on Worthiness to receive Holy Communion
"It is sometimes claimed that dissent from the magisterium (official teaching of the Church) is totally compatible with being a 'good Catholic' and poses no obstacle to the reception of the sacraments. This is a grave error."
---Pope John Paul II (Speech to U.S. bishops in Los Angeles, Sept. 16, 1987).
"If, when I say to the wicked, thou shalt surely die: (and) thou declare it NOT to him, nor SPEAK TO HIM, that he may be converted from his wicked way, and live, the same wicked man shall die in his iniquity, but I will REQUIRE HIS BLOOD AT THY HAND."
-----Ezechiel (Ezekiel) 3:18
"You hypocrites, you know how to discern the face of the heaven and of the earth: but how is it that you do not discern this time? And why even of yourselves, do you not JUDGE that which is just?"
"And that servant who knew the will of his lord, and prepared not himself, and did not according to his will, shall be beaten with MANY STRIPES."
"But he that knew not, and did things worthy of stripes, shall be beaten with few stripes. And unto whomsoever much is given, of him MUCH SHALL BE REQUIRED, and to whom they have committed much, of him they will demand the more."
"For what have I to do to JUDGE them that are without? (Outside the Church). Do not you judge them that are within? For them that are without, God will judge. PUT AWAY THE EVIL ONE from among yourselves."
[1 Corinthians 5:12]
"Woe to the world because of SCANDALS. For it must needs be that scandals come: but nevertheless woe to that man by whom the scandal cometh."
"And if he will not hear them: tell the church. AND IF THE WILL NOT HEAR THE CHURCH, let him be to thee as the heathen and publican."
COMMENTARY: The above Word from Our Lord is clear evidence that Democratic (or Republican) politicians who do not follow ALL Church teachings are not to be considered members of the Church because they cause scandal, and if currently a member, should be EXCOMMUNICATED. However, since the vast majority of our bishops are afraid they will be overruled by Pope Francis, they will not dare do it.
COMMENTARY: Yes Francis, that is true. The Left is always looking for "new ways" to slander people, change history and traditions, weaken or destroy the family, kill and murder the unborn, and tell lies to the general public.
"The time has come to acknowledge spiritual realities: The devil is using the Democratic Party to try to destroy America. If we don’t awaken, our children will soon awaken in a nation unrecognizable to us today."
COMMENTARY: There is no question the devil is greatly influencing politicians in the Democracy Party. It is confirmed by their lies and hypocrisy, their approval of the "right to kill" unborn human beings up to, and even after birth, their approval of homosexual marriage, and the often rude and vulgar language in which they voice their distorted and biased opinions.
WORDS OF ENCOURAGEMENT - The Virgin Mary instructs us to persevere - “Every pain has its end and then life in freedom begins there where all of my children come – where everything is returned. My children, your battle is difficult. It will be even more difficult, but you follow my example. Pray for the strength of faith; trust in the love of the Heavenly Father. I am with you. I am manifesting myself to you. I am encouraging you. With immeasurable motherly love I am caressing your souls."
"Montfort explains that in the days leading to the Antichrist, a powerful group will emerge from among the clergy which, through their devotion to Mary, will be granted special powers to fight Satan..."
"BE NOT AFRAID"
"Of what should we be afraid? Our captain on this battlefield is Christ Jesus. We have discovered what we have to do.
Christ has bound our enemies for us and weakened them that they cannot overcome us unless we so choose to let them. So we must fight courageously and mark ourselves with the sign of the most Holy Cross."
---St Catherine of Siena
COMMENTARY: While it is true President Trump has character flaws, it is also true he has become a great leader who has done a lot of good for our country. He has many enemies and among them are many in the news media who are totally against him and therefore tell lies, slander him, and only print negative, "fake" news about him. Therefore, it is good to visit the White House website and become informed as to the truth.
President Trump nominated for Nobel Peace Prize - “For his merit, I think he has done more trying to create peace between nations than most other Peace Prize nominees,” Tybring-Gjedde, a four-term member of Parliament who also serves as chairman of the Norwegian delegation to the NATO Parliamentary Assembly, told Fox News in an exclusive interview. Tybring-Gjedde, in his nomination letter to the Nobel Committee, said the Trump administration has played a key role in the establishment of relations between Israel and the UAE. “As it is expected other Middle Eastern countries will follow in the footsteps of the UAE, this agreement could be a game changer that will turn the Middle East into a region of cooperation and prosperity,” he wrote.
COMMENTARY: Obama did nothing to deserve the Nobel Peace Prize, but Trump has done an outstanding job of promoting peace while being persecuted by members of the Democratic Party and the press.
COMMENTARY: Archbishop Vigano has a right to express himself. We may not agree with him, but that is no reason for a newspaper owned by EWTN to publish an opinion by FATHER RAYMOND J. DE SOUZA that is filled with one sided accusations.
Calling him "reckless, unfair, violating his oath of his Office, radical, guilty of inflammatory and erratic interventions, unstable, and a heretic & schismatic" are serious accusations. However, as many who are very devout feel, they could also be applied to Pope Francis due to his strange, unorthodox conduct as the Vicar of Christ & his involvement in the internal affairs of other countries. But there are currently few, if any cardinals or bishops, who would have the courage to accuse him of those things, even if some are true.
However, for Viganò, this method does not have any effect anymore. “I think,” he explains, “that the answer [for why he is being called a schismatic and heretic] is obvious by now: a taboo has been broken, and a discussion about Vatican II, that up until now had remained confined to very restricted areas of the ecclesial body, has now begun on a large scale. And what most disturbs the supporters of the Council is the observation that this dispute is not about if the Council is open to criticism, but about what to do to remedy the errors and equivocal passages found in it.”
That is to say: the discourse about the Second Vatican Council and its aftermath has already moved forward, in spite of these intellectually poor attempts at delegitimizing this debate by calling out “schismatic!”
Archbishop Viganò himself has only recently, in a September 1 statement, made it clear that he intends to remain in the Catholic Church and to fight those within her hierarchy who are undermining the Catholic Faith from WITHIN."
Archbishop Vincenzo Paglia spoke at the second online meeting of the Pan-American Network for the Right to Life, when he was asked by audience members what the church could do to counter politicians who say that they are Catholic but support abortion and whether one solution would be excommunicating them. The archbishop replied that while supporting abortion is certainly against Catholic doctrine, it is not enough to simply “condemn the sin.”
COMMENTARY: Archbishop Vincenzo Paglia never mentions the pain & sufferings the unborn experience while being pulled out of the womb and aborted. He never mentions the fact that to kill an unborn human being is first degree murder, but rather, we should show "mercy" towards those who approve of, and to those who allow the killing, as well as to those who do the actual killing.
Unfortunately, he fails to truly understand when mercy should be given. First, the guilty party must admit that what she or he is doing is gravely sinful and express sorrow for their sins. This is not being done by the today's guilty parties.
JESUS never displayed "mercy" toward those who failed to express sorrow after he admonished them. (The Archbishop also never speaks of admonishment or the hypocrisy of so-called "Catholic" politicians).
The Pharisees are an example of the necessity of admonishment, and how Our Lord reacts to hypocrites:
JESUS told them:
"Woe to you scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites; because you go round about the sea and the land to make one proselyte; and when he is made, you make him the child of hell twofold more than yourselves."
"You serpents, generation of vipers, how will you flee from the judgment of hell?"
As concerns those who refuse to listen to the Church after being told what they are doing is evil, Our Lord's Word is very clear. They are no longer to be members of the Church, or in modern day language, excommunicated:
"And if he will not hear them: tell the church. And if he will not hear the church, let him be to thee as the heathen and publican."
The "Pontifical Academy for Life" was re-organized and took a Left turn after the death of St. Pope John Paul II and the original goals were revised by Pope Francis. To "correct" a great work of a saint is a very prideful and even sinful thing to do, especially when it involves human life. In addition, Pro-life people have always worked to save lives from conception unto death, therefore, there was no need for the Archbishop to remind them of that.
This Archbishop's distorted way of approaching the grave sin of deliberate abortion is a scandal to not only those within the Church, but also to those outside the Church. Sadly, It will only result in giving more ammunition for the Pro-death people, and add to the already large death toll of unborn human beings.
Archbishop Paglia needs to be admonished by Pope Francis, but unfortunately, we know that will not happen. May Our Lord have MERCY on their souls.
Recent events have thrown the future of the Pontifical John Paul II Theological Institute for Marriage and Family Sciences into theological confusion.
"John Paul II’s testament to the power of Christ’s saving action and man’s capacity to live the truth now provides the backdrop for the recent conflict over the direction of the “re-founded” John Paul II Theological Institute for Marriage and Family Sciences, the academic program that the Polish pope founded in 1981 at the Lateran University.
Responding to the approval of new statutes for the institute, frustrated students sent a letter to Archbishop Vincenzo Paglia, the institute’s grand chancellor, and Msgr. Pierangelo Sequeri, its president, expressing what they see as “the loss of the formational approach and, therefore, of the identity” of the school...
After the approval of the new statutes, in late July, two eminent moral theologians at the institute — Msgr. Levio Melina, who also served as its president from 2006 to 2016, and Father José Noriega — were effectively fired, and the rest of the faculty was suspended, pending a review by Archbishop Paglia. The new leadership sought to present the removal of the two academics in a benign light: Msgr. Melina’s position was “eliminated” due to the refocusing of the program of studies after the adoption of the new statutes, according to an institute press release.
More than 1,000 students and alumni have signed an online letter of protest that defended the institute’s original mandate:
“In a world where everything seems to be divided between a relativistic or legalistic vision of ethics,” read the July 24 letter, “the (current) vision taught by the institute allows us to understand morality as a path of fullness and meaning for the human being, where people are responsible for their actions while, at same time, always counting on the help of grace and of the virtues that help them live a good life.”
COMMENTARY: Sadly, the "protest" by the students and alumni was of no avail and no compromise was allowed. Therefore, the Far-Left, liberal approach of the reformatted institute will remain in effect until another traditional pope is elected.
US Bishops invite faithful to day of prayer and fasting against racism - "Bishop Fabre stressed that they stand in solidarity with Archbishop Jerome E. Listecki of Milwaukee (which includes the city of Kenosha), who earlier this week said, “Violence can never be the means to attain peace and justice. The Church stands as a beacon of hope. The sins of violence, injustice, racism, and hatred must be purged from our communities with acts of mercy, with the protection and care for the dignity of every human person, with respect for the common good, and with an unwavering pursuit of equality and peace.”
COMMENTARY: The actions of a few police officers whether justified or not justified, do not reveal widespread racism in America. There is very little racism in the United States. The false idea that wide-spread racism exists is being promoted by the news media which is to a vast extent, controlled by Democrats. It is the violence by misguided racist protesters that we need to end through our prayers and fasting.
F-22 fighters intercept 3 sets of Russian Tupelev jets near Alaska - "“Our northern approaches have had an increase in foreign military activity as our competitors continue to expand their military presence and probe our defenses,” said Gen. Glen VanHerck, commander of the North American Aerospace Defense Command. “This year, we’ve conducted more than a dozen intercepts, the most in recent years.” Russian Submarine Sets Off Alarm Bells After Surfacing Near Alaska Amid Rash Of Posturing - "Russia's Pacific Fleet has claimed that the surfacing of the guided-missile submarine Omsk in the Bering Sea off Alaska yesterday was "routine," despite it being a highly unusual event that set of alarm bells within the U.S. military. This sub is presently taking part in the largest Russian naval exercise in this area since the fall of the Soviet Union, which is tied to the country's increasing military activities in the strategic Arctic region. This comes amid a host of other instances of military posturing between Washington and Moscow, including the U.S. Navy's recent and equally rare decision to publicize a visit by the highly advanced, first-in-class USS Seawolf to Norway."
COMMENTARY: Russia, in her efforts to prove she is a strong military power equal to, or superior to the United States, (at times in a reckless manner), plays "cat & mouse" games to test the response of the U.S. military. This is dangerous because accidents and misinformation can cause overreactions and lead to greater conflicts and increased tensions with the U.S.
Although Russia likes to play "war games," and expand her strategic positions, she will not start a war with the United States. Propaganda is her main goal, and that involves influencing other nations (especially those of the West) as to her power, as well as influencing her own citizens for political purposes so that her current leader(s) can continue to retain power.
Burgess Owens slams Dems as 'dark, depressed party' compared to 'optimistic' GOP - "The Democratic Party is taking away hope from Americans with the coronavirus lockdowns, Fox News contributor Burgess Owens told "The Ingraham Angle" moments after his speech Wednesday night at the Republican National Convention. The retired NFL player and Republican nominee for Utah's 4th congressional district slammed Democratic leadership for closing down businesses and sports." Hundreds of faith leaders endorse Biden to 'restore the soul' of US - "Faith 2020 is raising awareness, mobilizing faith-rooted voters to get out the vote and doing our part to restore the soul of the nation," the group wrote on its website. "We’re a group of progressives, independents and conservatives seeking change." Faith 2020 received endorsements from faith leaders of various religions - Christian, Jewish, Sikh, Muslim and others. Its list includes well-known names, such as Nadia Bolz-Weber, a Lutheran minister who founded the LGBTQ-friendly House for All Sinners and Saints in Denver; and Robert W. Lee IV, a descendant of the Confederate general, who stepped down as pastor of a North Carolina church and became a supporter of Black Lives Matter."
COMMENTARY: This so-called group of "Faith Leaders" are far from having a true faith and none among them is truly conservative or Christian. They are mainly a group of Left-Wing supporters of Biden. Therefore, they will lie and attempt to deceive the public by false claims that they are for the common good, when in reality they are simply imitation "faith Leaders" that use the word "faith" to foster their political goals.
Transgender woman’s role at Mass stirs controversy in Argentina - "ROSARIO, Argentina— Marking an historical first in Pope Francis’s home country, the Diocese of San Luis in northern Argentina invited a transgender woman Tuesday to read one of the prayer intentions at a public Mass celebrated by the local bishop."
COMMENTARY: First, we must state that "she" is not actually a "woman," but a man. We cannot change our DNA. If this is not acknowledged by this bishop, then he has become part of the lie this misguided man is perpetuating, no matter the "good" he is accomplishing in society. To honor such a person without acknowledging his true identity is very sinful and the cause of great scandal.
Statement from the Press Secretary on Response to Hurricane Laura - "Hurricane Laura remains a deadly hurricane with devastating coastal storm surges, destructive winds, and flash flooding. President Donald J. Trump was briefed earlier this week by Acting Secretary of Homeland Security Chad Wolf and Administrator of the Federal Emergency Management Agency Peter Gaynor on the status of Hurricane Laura and the proactive preparations taken by the Administration, and he has continued to receive regular updates about the conditions on the ground. President Trump is committed to deploying the full resources of the Federal Government to rescue those in distress, support those in the region affected, and restore disruptions to our communities and infrastructure.." Marxist Activist Angela Davis to Director Ava DuVernay: ‘Demonstrations Are ‘Rehearsals for Revolution - "Marxist activist Angela Davis is warning that the street demonstrations currently rocking cities around the country are just the early stages of a larger “revolution” that is needed to bring about lasting radical social and economic change. “Sometimes we assume the most important work is the dramatic work—the street demonstrations. I like the term that [Marxist cultural critic] John Berger used:Demonstrations are ‘rehearsals for revolution,'” Davis told filmmaker Ava DuVernay in a wide-ranging interview in Vanity Fair."
COMMENTARY: Dangerous talk that reveals a destructive path patriotic Americans do not want to be following.
COMMENTARY: Placing your police force in even greater danger is very foolish. What police officer would want to work under those conditions? Showing a lack of respect & appreciation for your police force is a disgusting way for any person to behave.
COMMENTARY: If Trump's presidency is so "maddening to watch," why doesn't he just keep quiet and ignore watching it?
Finally, States Are Retracting Hydroxychloroquine Bans - "In an abrupt about-face, the Ohio Board of Pharmacy and governor of Minnesota have recently retracted their decisions to ban the use of hydroxychloroquine to treat COVID-19 patients. As the saying goes, it’s better late than never."
COMMENTARY: Good decision.
COMMENTARY: More and more people are catching on to the violent, ugly and immature tactics of BLM.
COMMENTARY: A very sad reminder of what a mentally disturbed boy can do. His parent(s) must be feeling very hurt right now. They need our prayers.
COMMENTARY: If the protesters "burn themselves out" by destroying Mayor Ted Wheeler's house, I wonder if he would still feel the same way.
COMMENTARY: There are a fair number Catholic intellectuals who are filled with pride and are not qualified to judge anyone, because they themselves are not without sin:
"And why seest thou the mote that is in thy brother's eye; and seest not the beam that is in thy own eye?"
‘Are you a christian!?’ BLM activists harass restaurant patrons who refuse to raise fists and shout slogans (VIDEOS) - "In one scene which spread like wildfire on Tuesday, a large group of white protesters can be seen crowding around the table of a white woman at a Washington DC restaurant and demanding that she raise her fist to comply. "Are you a Christian?" one activist repeatedly yells. Others yell slogans including “White Silence is Violence” and “No Justice, No Peace.” As no videos have emerged showing the entire sequence of events, it's unclear what, if anything, prompted such dramatic reaction from the protesters."
COMMENTARY: Some self-righteous, immature protesters do not even know what "justice" is. They should be told to grow up and act their age, and stop acting like bullies.
POPE TO PEN ‘HUMAN FRATERNITY’ ENCYCLICAL - "The impromptu announcement has set off alarm bells among conservatives clergy and faithful Catholics at the Vatican. "It will be the ultimate Masonic document," a concerned Vatican insider told Church Militant. "An encyclical is something really serious. It is something no serious Catholic can ignore." "This isn't one of the Holy Father's exhortations," he added. ..
"We need to apply to Francis' words a keen intellectual skepticism and pray for the discernment of spirits. Remember that he tells abuse victims that God "made them gay" and gets more outraged at President Trump than abortionists like Emma Bonino," quipped Zmirak, who deals with levels of magisterial teaching in his best-selling The Politically Incorrect Guide to Catholicism. "
COMMENTARY: Unfortunately, Pope Francis is at times misguided, and follows his own will, rather than seeking the Will of Almighty God. It is too early to tell, therefore we can only hope and pray that this time he actually is following God's Holy Will.
Yves Congar and the Future of the Church in Its Past - "JG: “The Church is its future as much as it is its past.” This claim by Congar, highlighted in Brother Émile’s book, is significant and summarizes well a large part of Congar’s ecclesiology. How do you interpret it?
CT: Jesus enjoyed a unique authority among those who surrounded him, because they felt directly touched by his teachings, his words of comfort, and his deeds. The Church is responsible for relaying Christ by making him present to men and women of all times. To carry out this mandate efficiently, it must indeed remain faithful to what it was but also to what it needs to be for the people of today and tomorrow. Besides, this is the only way for it to be a main player in the construction of the future. Individuals and institutions that address people of today as if they were speaking to people of yesterday have a minimal impact on the evolution of society."
John Paul I: the faith of the "Smiling Pope” in Vatican II - "One of the shortest pontificates in history could bring to the honour of the altars another pope of the 20th century. John Paul I lived only 34 days on the Chair of Peter, but his testimony - not only in that short period of time, but more so in the previous decades as bishop and pastor, esteemed even outside the Italian borders - remains very tangible in the Church even today.
It was 42 years ago that Albino Luciani, the Patriarch of Venice, was elected pope on the fourth ballot on August 26, 1978, and assumed the double name “John Paul”, in homage to his immediate predecessors, John XXIII and Paul VI. The former appointed him Bishop of Vittorio Veneto, thus including him among the Fathers of the Council; while the latter transferred him to Venice and created him cardinal."
COMMENTARY: A gentle & humble, saintly man who is still missed. No doubt, his prayers are continuing to help the Lord's Church, especially during these stressful, and uncertain times.
Egypt: Christians Ordered to Sell Home and Go into Exile - "The case revolves around a Christian youth who accidentally hit and killed a Muslim girl with his motorcycle in the narrow streets of the village of Hawarat al-Maqta. Despite the fact that such accidents are immensely common in the chaotic and near lawless roads of Egypt; despite the fact that even the girl’s father acknowledged that it was an accident and is not accusing the Christian youth; and despite the fact that these sessions are informal and meant to find the most equitable solution before the courts get involved—Mayor Hanni Snofar of Fayum governorate, who was invited to the session, ordered not just the expulsion of the youth, but his entire family, who must sell their home as soon as possible and essentially go in “exile.”
COMMENTARY: Muslims have no tolerance for those they believe violated their moral codes. If the governments of Western nations treated Muslims the way they treat Christians, Muslims would be infuriated. However, the nations of the West have more wisdom and compassion, and choose to respond in a far more civilized manner.
COMMENTARY: Black Lives Matter is far from being a non-violent protest organization. They promote violence and looting, and therefore should be identified as a TERRORIST organization. Those who support them, no matter what their social or religious position, are in reality, "terrorists sympathizers."
Protesters In Kenosha Torched ‘Much Of The Black Business District - "Protesters ended up torching many black-owned businesses when they went on a rampage over the weekend in Kenosha, Wisconsin, after police shot Jacob Blake, who is black. “Arsonists set buildings ablaze and torched much of the Black business district in Kenosha, Wisconsin, during a second night of unrest sparked by the wounding of a Black man shot in the back by police as his three young sons looked on,” KENOSHA ON FIRE - "Cellphone cameras captured looters smashing out the storefront windows of businesses and then ransacking the merchandise inside...“That is not protesting,” said the owner of Dale’s Jewelers. “That is criminal. That’s criminal. All this is doing is bringing us to the brink of a Civil War.” The Democrat Program: Mayhem, Street Thugs and Threats of Civil War - "The Democrats Back the Riots But that’s the Democrats’ answer, to the hundreds of business owners whose life savings have gone up in smoke at the hands of Black Lives Matter and Antifa. To the thousands of civilians assaulted, imprisoned in their homes, terrorized and bullied by the thugs who control the streets of major American cities ruled by Democrats. Senator Mazie Hirono refused to condemn Antifa’s brown-shirt assaults on American citizens and law officers. Joe Biden has said not a word. Nor has Kamala Harris, or any other Democratic leader."
Trump: "We will NOT stand for looting, arson, violence, and lawlessness on American streets," Trump tweeted. The president added that his staff recently spoke with Wisconsin Governor Tony Evers, who agreed to accept the federal troops in his state, according to the tweet. We will NOT stand for looting, arson, violence, and lawlessness on American streets. My team just got off the phone with Governor Evers who agreed to accept federal assistance (Portland should do the same!)..."
The Hard Facts on COVID-19 Science Denial - "By misusing anecdotes and stripping data of vital context, these media figures have woven a narrative that is at stark odds with reality. As documented below with credible primary sources, the hard facts show that: the C-19 death rates in Republican states regularly condemned by media outlets remain far lower than in NY and NJ after more than four months of doomsday projections for Republican states. Republican governors ridiculed by the media have acted in accord with the facts of science. Democratic governors cheered by the media have enacted policies that flout some of the most important scientific facts about C-19." "It's like being possessed by a demon": The forgotten survivors of COVID-19 who still have weird and scary symptoms months later - "A strange metallic taste, tingling in the arms and legs, muscle weakness, nerve pain, agonizing headaches, severe fatigue, numbness, heart palpitations, back pain, chronic shortness of breath, gastrointestinal disorders, a sore throat, brain fog, conjunctivitis, blurred vision and more. This grim roll call of symptoms does not include the 'fever, dry cough and loss of smell' we have come to associate with COVID-19. And yet all are among the additional afflictions described by a steady stream of people whose lives are bowing under the weight of this terrible disease.
The pandemic so far has been defined by the horrific death toll which has taken so many loved ones too soon. But as the battle against COVID-19 continues, there are growing calls for the spotlight to also fall on those who are living in pain amid growing evidence of not only a far broader spectrum of symptoms - but of the illness lasting far longer than the initial 'two weeks' we were warned about. Also emerging is the long-term damage wreaked by the virus on the lungs, heart, kidneys, brain and even blood vessels. Such is the extent of these after effects - which can ease for days or weeks at a time, only to return with a vengeance leaving many sufferers incapable of functioning day-to-day, let alone returning to work for weeks or months afterwards - that the virus is being compared to 'this generation's polio.'"
Risk of Death Is 30% Lower for COVID-19 Patients Treated With Hydroxychloroquine - "An Italian observational study contributes to the ongoing debate regarding the use of hydroxychloroquine in the current pandemic. The research, conducted on 3,451 patients treated in 33 hospitals throughout the Italian territory (list of participating centers attached), shows that the use of this drug reduces by 30% the risk of death in hospitalized patients affected by Covid-19." What is Gilead's role in the war on hydroxychloroquine? - "Is Gilead, the maker of Remdesivir, waging war on HCQ (hydroxychloroquine)? Attacks on the drug have been continuous ever since Dr. Didier Raoult used this quinine derivative to save the lives of COVID-19 patients last March. The first attempt to discredit HCQ was a hastily compiled Veterans' Administration hospital system study last April. Notably, one of the study's authors had in the past received numerous grants from Gilead, with one grant in 2018 totaling nearly a quarter of a million dollars."
COMMENTARY: The FDA is playing politics when they refuse to acknowledge that we have right to decide what is best to protect ourselves from a dangerous virus. They should not have that type of authority.
VATICAN NEWS HAILS BLM AS ‘NON-VIOLENT’ - "Vatican News is praising Black Lives Matter (BLM) as a "movement dedicated to non-violent civil disobedience through protests against police violence directed at black persons as well as all forms of racism."
COMMENTARY: Again, Vatican News proves they are more political than spiritual with their Left-Wing approach to violent organizations. vtb
COMMENTARY: Political Pope Francis lines himself up with those who fail to see the truth about BLM. He should have waited for all the facts to be studied before acting so rashly.
COMMENTARY: Coming to Mass primarily for socializing is becoming more & more common in many parishes. It is reflected by the indifference displayed by many concerning how they participate at Mass, the type music being played, the approval of the priest of loud talking before & after Mass, or even at times during the Mass, & the immodest way some parishioners dress.
A permanent notice in the church bulletin reminding parishioners to be quiet in church & to dress modestly, would greatly contribute to solving these distractions and help people who choose to be more reverent & to more fully participate at Mass.
Amazon bans book outlining 'health hazards of homosexuality' - "Retail giant Amazon has removed a book outlining the medical and psychological dangers associated with same-sex sexual acts from its website. Some say it is further evidence of a larger censorship trend. The book, Health Hazards of Homosexuality: What the Medical and Psychological Research Reveals, a 600-page book assembled by activist organization Mass Resistance, had been allowed to be sold on the platform for approximately three and a half years with no issue until recently when the online retailer notified the group that it would no longer be allowed to be sold or printed on its site. The company also reportedly blocked Mass Resistance from accessing its account records."
COMMENTARY: Amazon is owned by a liberal Democrat who goes along with the Party's objectives and when possible, (like members of the news media), and using the power his position and wealth offers, censors those who voice an opinion different from his own.
Republican Convention TV ratings: Melania Trump gives the numbers a boost - "First Lady Melania Trump apparently helped to push up the TV ratings for the Republican National Convention with her speech Tuesday night from the newly renovated White House Rose Garden. According to Nielsen, an average of 18 million viewers turned in for Night 2 of the GOP event — a sizable improvement over the 17 million that watched Night 1. Four years ago, the average prime-time audience for the second night of the 2016 Republican Convention was 19.8 million. The audience for Night 2 of the Democratic National Convention held last week was 19.2 million."
COMMENTARY: Actually, the ratings were very good, considering the biased manner in which Republicans and President trump are treated in the press.
White Supremacist Who Organized Charlottesville Race Riots Endorses Joe Biden - "Richard Spencer, neo-Nazi, white supremacist, and organizer of the infamous 2017 Charlottesville riots, announced yesterday on Twitter that he will be voting for Joe Biden in the upcoming 2020 election. A Twitter user asked Spencer if he will be voting for Biden or sitting out the election, given his belief that “Biden/Kamala will be tougher on crime/BLM than Trump.” Spencer responded, “I plan to vote for Biden and a straight democratic ticket. It’s not based on ‘accelerationism’ or anything like that; the liberals are clearly more competent people.”
COMMENTARY: This again proves Biden is not only a false Catholic, but also someone who does not deserve to occupy any political office.

COMMENTARY: Our bishops at times act more like an arm of the Democrat Party, rather than followers of Jesus Christ and the teachings of His Church.
Institutional Racism - "Institutional racism and systemic racism are terms bandied about these days without much clarity. Being 84 years of age, I have seen and lived through what might be called institutional racism or systemic racism. Both operate under the assumption that one race is superior to another. It involves the practice of treating a person or group of people differently based on their race. Negroes, as we proudly called ourselves back then, were denied entry to hotels, restaurants and other establishments all over the nation, including the north. Certain jobs were entirely off-limits to Negroes. What school a child attended was determined by his race. In motion pictures, Negroes were portrayed as being unintelligent, such as the roles played by Stepin Fetchit and Mantan Moreland in the Charlie Chan movies. Fortunately, those aspects of racism are a part of our history." Equal Justice for All Includes Our Unborn - "The United States was founded on the universal principle that all people have a God-given right to life. All includes every single human-being, regardless of race, gender or age. However, since the Supreme Court’s tragic Roe v. Wade decision 45 years ago, more than 60 million innocent lives have been lost. Every single one of those lives was important and unique. Since the time of Roe, growing technology has provided an even clearer, more complete picture of the developing child in the womb.
With ultrasounds and 3D imaging technology, we can see a complete, vivid picture of a child in the womb. We can now discern distinct facial features, yawns, hiccups, and stretches. Technology also shows us that babies have a heartbeat 22 days after conception. Many times, babies even have a different blood type than their own mother – another example of how unborn children are unique individuals. Thankfully, the American people are increasingly recognizing the value of human life.
A recent Marist Poll found that an overwhelming majority of the American people want substantial limits on abortion. Another poll found that 61 percent of Americans opposed using tax dollars to fund abortions within the United States, while 83 percent of respondents opposed subsidizing abortions outside of the United States. Despite these polling numbers, last year Planned Parenthood, the nation’s largest abortion provider, received $543 million in taxpayer dollars. Over that same period, it reported committing 321,384 abortions, while significantly reducing the non-abortion services it provides."

How Defunding The Police Endangers American Lives, Liberty, And Property - "The Declaration of Independence proclaims the government of the United States was formed to secure our unalienable rights to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. It further states the right to organize a government in a manner “most likely to effect” the “Safety and Happiness” of its citizens. Without protections for these natural rights, little else in society matters, and all other activities of the state, no matter how well intention ed or seemingly benign, are irrelevant and trivial. The words penned by Thomas Jefferson were carefully chosen. While the Founders sought a new government with a higher priority on individual liberty than ever before, they knew they wanted a government. They did not declare the founding of an anarchist enclave, free of any mechanisms of the state. Any government, at its most minimal, must protect life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness or it is not worthy to wield the sole legitimate use of force granted by the consent of a free people." Turning to Faith, Friends, and Family During Coronavirus Outbreak - "As the coronavirus spreads both globally and inside the United States, it can wear on folks physically and mentally. Being at home and constantly watching the crisis unfold on television can dampen our spirit. Times of trial and hardship call for proactive actions, but they also demand of us commitment to faith, to be our brothers’ keeper, to care for our neighbors. The strength of faith, friends, and family are critical during these difficult times." In an intervention published by our Italian colleague Marco Tosatti (see full text below), the French priest says now that Viganò's example could encourage other prelates to come out into the public with their own disagreements with certain teachings of that Council...As Moynihan presented Viganò's position, he explained about the Second Vatican Council that “sometimes that interpretation was not keeping with the perennial tradition of the Church. In arguing this, Vigano is agreeing with the work of another bishop, Athanasius Schneider of Kazakhstan, who has been presenting this thesis on a number of occasions in recent years.”
Bill Barr Tears the Seamless Garment - "Catholics, says Attorney General William Barr, “understand that only by transforming ourselves can we transform the world beyond ourselves.” Saccharine? Perhaps. But this remark from Barr’s now-infamous Notre Dame speech summarizes the faith of a man whose public Catholicism has for decades emphasized both sexual morality and personal charity. Discipline and virtue — words that read like dog whistles to modernists and other subversives in the Catholic hierarchy — are central to Barr’s faith. To Barr, Christ’s “yoke is easy” precisely because “taking up your cross” is not — it is the rigor of virtue that unlocks the simplicity of Christian life. Don’t sleep around, and you won’t have bastard children. Avoid anger, and you won’t be prone to violence. Love your neighbor as yourself, and you won’t be consumed with hatred." TERRIBLE AGREEMENT BY POPE FRANCIS & THE VATICAN - What Has Changed In Two Years Among the Chinese Bishops. The Failure of the 2018 Accord - "Heading into the signing of the accord, 50 Chinese dioceses were governed by “official” bishops, meaning recognized by both Rome and Beijing, and 17 by “clandestine” bishops, meaning recognized by Rome but not by the Chinese government. In addition, however, there were 7 bishops hit with excommunication, 5 of whom had been installed by the regime in as many dioceses deemed by Rome still vacant, and 2 instead installed in dioceses already run by bishops who are legitimate in the eyes of Rome but clandestine according to the Chinese authorities. So then, upon the signing of the agreement Pope Francis lifted the excommunication of those 7 bishops and assigned to each of them the governance of their diocese of residence.
Also in the two dioceses where there were already legitimate but clandestine bishops, the solution adopted by Rome was to entrust the governance to the two formerly excommunicated bishops. To make this possible the 90-year-old bishop Peter Zhuang Jianjian was removed from the diocese of Shantou, while in the diocese of Xiapu-Mindong the 60-year-old bishop in office, Vincent Guo Xijin, was demoted to auxiliary."
Dr. Fauci: Long-term effects of COVID-19 'really troublesome' - "Dr. Anthony Fauci has a warning for young adults who think they will bounce back from COVID-19. Speaking at an event with the American Society for Microbiology, Dr. Fauci pointed out that many young adults and kids who believe they had a “mild” case of the coronavirus take a significant amount of time to recover from all symptoms." Goodyear bans ‘Blue Lives…All Lives Matter’ and MAGA attire, allows BLM and LGBT gear, only - "If you’re a Trump supporter or someone who backs the police and believes that “All Lives Matter,” Goodyear doesn’t want you as a customer. The flailing tire company triggered a boycott after an internal “diversity training” presentation showed that Goodyear allows employees to wear Black Lives Matter and LGBT gear but bans MAGA attire or anything that’s pro-police or pro-every other race. An anonymous employee leaked a photo of the slide, which was presented at Goodyear’s Topeka, Kansas factory. The slide was mandated by Goodyear’s corporate headquarters in Akron, Ohio." Big Spending Biden - "Last year, we compared the costs of the leading Democratic candidates' promises. At that time, Biden, to his credit, proposed the least new spending. Kamala Harris promised the most. She wanted to add $4.2 trillion to America's debt. Her lavish promises didn't win her supporters; she dropped out soon after. But now she's Biden's running mate, and Biden promises to spend more." Husband finds heart-wrenching goodbye video on late wife's phone - "A husband found a heart-wrenching video on his late wife’s phone after she died of a life-long illness. He shared the difficulty of mourning in the middle of the coronavirus pandemic. "Bradley, you've always been the one,” Bradley’s late wife, Stephani Wagoner, is heard saying on the video. “You've always been the one my heart belonged to, the one that made me smile.”
MEMO: New Zealand has been lauded internationally for its handling of the COVID-19 pandemic with some suggesting Ardern is “the most effective leader on the planet.” Intense contact tracing, isolation and testing made New Zealand one of the first COVID-free countries in the world. On June 8, all social distancing measures were lifted after a 51-day lockdown, allowing citizens to return to normal life. Strict border controls remained in place, however, prohibiting entry to non-New Zealenders and requiring all returning citizens quarantine for 14 days.
COMMENTARY: An example of why the virus can return at any time. However, there is not much detail as to the circumstances or how that group of individuals came to have the virus. While caution is always good, overreacting is not good. This will continue to be an ongoing controversial subject involving political & social debates for some time into the future.
VIDEO - Hydroxychloroquine Protocol Continues Getting Censored - "July 27, 2020, America’s Frontline Doctors, a physicians group, held a press conference about hydroxychloroquine outside the Supreme Court of the United States. After The New York Times filed a complaint with Facebook, the video was quickly scrubbed from YouTube and social media platforms.
The following day, the group held a second press conference, blasting Facebook, Twitter and YouTube for their unwarranted censorship of medical information that can save lives and provide relief from the fear gripping the nation. In what appears to be retaliation, the group’s website was taken down by Squarespace."
COMMENTARY: If you do a search on biased, Left-Wing Google you will find almost all negative opinions, even if you search for a conservative view. A lot of it is due to the anti-Trump people who lack common sense. However, these doctors should know what they are talking about. They even provide evidence, based on their treatment of their patients, that Hydroxychloroquine works.
The only controversial statement they make is you do not have to wear a mask. However, their reasoning may be based on the circumstances surrounding their own studies and experiences, versus the studies made by others in the medical profession who may be less experienced, and/or may have conducted their studies under a different set of circumstances.
The Darker Side of Martin Luther - "Hitler himself named Luther as one of history’s greatest reformers in his novel, Mein Kampf. How much did Luther’s writings affect Hitler and the Nazis? This paper will serve as evidence of how difficult it is to accurately recount past events,
especially ones that involve unpleasant aspects of world history. I will examine this topic using primary sources written by Luther and Hitler and official documents concerning the International military tribunal at Nuremburg to explore Luther’s influence on Hitler."
COMMENTARY: In spite of the fact that through his writings, Luther committed grave sins against the Jews and the Roman Catholic Church, a majority of Protestants who call themselves "Christians," approve of his teachings (including the author of the above article) and/or dismiss the scandal and divisions he caused within Christianity. This is due to the fact that they are decidedly against the beliefs and teachings of the Catholic Church, although they are not normally prejudiced against Catholics themselves.
The Internet is filled with attacks against the Catholic Church from Protestants who, with a fair measure of guilt that they refuse to acknowledge, have basically chosen not to attack other Protestant Churches, but rather, single out the Catholic Church.
The fact that Protestants keep on dividing into different Churches does not sink into their reasoning. They fail to form the logical conclusion that there can only be ONE source of the COMPLETE TRUTH, and not thousands, and divisions in regard to their beliefs are a clear sign that something is very wrong with some of their teachings.
Although throughout her history there have been, and continues to be divisions and scandals WITHIN the Church, faithful members continue to believe the true Church, because it is led by the HOLY SPIRIT, will always be "One, Holy, Catholic and Apostolic Church," based on not only the Bible, but Tradition tracing back to the Apostles and the first pope:
"And I say to thee: That thou art PETER; and upon this rock I will build my church, and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it."
"They therefore that received his word, were baptized; and there were added in that day about three thousand souls. And they were persevering in the doctrine of the APOSTLES, and in the communication of the breaking of bread, (THE EUCHARIST OR HOLY COMMUNION) and in prayers. And fear came upon every soul: many wonders also and signs were done by the apostles in Jerusalem, and there was great fear in all. And all they that believed, were together, and had all things common."
"Therefore, brethren, stand fast; and hold the TRADITIONS which you have learned, whether by word, or by our epistle."
[2 Thessalonians 2:14]
Luther may have originally had good intentions, and perhaps some of his earlier writings contained a measure of truth, but we will not be judged by the "good" we have done in the past, but how the state of our soul is now, and if we fulfilled our obligation to "warn" those living in sin to return to the Lord. One of the "Spiritual Works of Mercy" taught to Catholics is to "admonish sinners" because if we truly love someone, we will above all, always be concerned with his or her soul.
In conclusion, although it is well known what many Protestants think about the Catholic Church, it is also good from time to time to be reminded of why they believe what they do, and the motives behind their actions. While there is much talk about "unity" between those of different Faiths, there can be no true unity without honesty and a desire to accept the truth. The truth is there is only ONE TRUE CHURCH, and that is the Roman Catholic Church.
VATICAN II - "As Kalb explains, by analogy the documents of Vatican II are loaded with dicta, (possessing little authority) none of which were necessary to any binding statement of Catholic doctrine or dogma. This Council, unlike any before it, wanted to say a lot of things about a lot of subjects in the form of commentaries on this or that rather than simple declarative statements of what the Church teaches and what the faithful must hold—the subject matter of every ecumenical council before Vatican II.
Consequently, Kalb observes, the documents of this unique Council, with so much to say by way of dicta, are “twice as long as those of the first seven ecumenical councils put together.” I repeat: the documents of Vatican II are twice as long as the documents of the first seven Councils of the Church put together...Note well: there is not only a dispute over what the Council’s major documents mean to say, but also a dispute over the correct approach to interpreting what they mean to say. We have a Council whose documents have led to confusion on their face, followed by confusion over how they are to be understood."
COMMENTARY: When too much is left to your personal interpretation, it results in divisions, confusion, and a lack of unity. Although Vatican II had many good teachings, it failed to clearly define the truth in an authoritative manner.
U.S. DEMOCRAT PARTY GUILTY OF MASS MURDER
COMMENTARY: Although there are a few in the Republican Party, the U.S. Democrat Party is mostly made up of politicians who believe you have the “right to kill” unborn Americans in the womb, and even after being born! They have consistently blocked the Republican Party’s attempts to protect unborn and born alive infants. They have also blocked the Republican Party efforts to add a Human Life Amendment to the U.S.Constitution that would protect innocent unborn human beings from being sentenced to a “death penalty” & slaughtered, torn apart, & butchered in the womb.
For many years spiritually insane actions by Democrat politicians have resulted in the deaths of almost 4,000 human beings EVERY DAY. Millions upon millions have died at their hands. These mass murderers must be removed from office. Do not participate in the brutal murders of the innocent unborn by voting for these inhuman hypocrites.
Furthermore, it repudiates the fellowship of believers through the HOLY SPIRIT, in which we see a glimpse of a heavenly home that includes those from every tribe and tongue and nation. Racism is a heresy directed at each person of the TRINITY and against God’s work in the human race from creation to eschaton. It lies about who we are, who God is, and how we relate to each other and to God."
Heartbreaking: Infant survives abortion, mother holds him until he dies - "Robertson told US Magazine in 2015 that the reason she chose to share her past abortion was because she knew there were other women in the world struggling with regret and grief as well. “I had one girl tell me she has cried herself to sleep just about every night for the last 25 years after having an abortion, and nobody else knows about it,” Robertson said. “She regretted it all this time, but she just can’t seem to find a place of healing from it. So I thought it was a very unique thing for somebody who is in our position to say, ‘Look, I did this. And you can find healing and comfort from JESUS in it.'” Three Christian universities stop promoting Planned Parenthood - "Lubbock Christian University, affiliated with Churches of Christ in Texas; Clarks Summit University, a Baptist college in Pennsylvania; and Pepperdine University, affiliated with the Churches of Christ in California, were three of over 70 Christian schools that received a letter of concern from Students for Life Action regarding their promotion of the abortion industry to students. Each of those schools listened to what Students for Life had to say and decided to remove Planned Parenthood from their student resources page on their websites. Leaders from the schools also offered thanks to the pro-life organization and Lubbock Christian University even replaced the Planned Parenthood information with a link to a local, pro-life pregnancy center."
"If the police want to arrest a driver in a black neighborhood, they must be prepared for the possibility that the driver might have a gun on him. Statistically speaking, this is generally not the case—but experience has shown the likelihood that such a dangerous situation will arise is higher in black areas."
DIVIDED AMERICA - "The coming schism - "On June 16, 1858, 162 years ago next week, President Lincoln gave his famous "A House Divided" speech after his Republican nomination for the Senate. We are now far into the fifth year, since a policy was initiated, with the avowed object, and confident promise, of putting an end to slavery agitation.
Under the operation of that policy, that agitation has not only not ceased, but has constantly augmented. In my opinion, it will not cease, until a crisis shall have been reached, and passed. A house divided against itself cannot stand. Lincoln was of course correct in his prediction of a coming crisis, and 162 years later, we may be in the same situation. It would be reckless to claim that the divides then were much more severe than they are now. Yes, slavery was a contentious issue that dominated many aspects of American thought and politics.
The word "influential" above is very important. These are not just random everyday citizens offering radical opinions. These are politicians on the national stage, Hollywood celebrities, and media figures. In other words, they are the people who create bills and policies, and decide what will be on TV, in the movie theaters and newspapers, and on nearly all of the most popular websites. This goes beyond the recent riots, however.
Many of these same people are also insisting that we adopt ideas that are far-fetched in mild cases, and downright insane in others. J.K. Rowling has found herself in hot water for simply making the correct, factual observation that men cannot have periods. This was a heinous crime, however, since an entire political wing in this country has adopted that very idea. This is the same party that celebrates the murder of the unborn, that believes that every country on Earth besides the United States can have borders, and that believes now that the police are unnecessary and should be abolished.
How do we bridge these divides? These are non-negotiable issues. Men cannot become women. A fetus is not a tumor-like clump of cells; he is a human being. A country requires borders for cohesion and security. A civilized society needs law enforcement to keep from slipping into anarchy (the entire world recently received a lesson in this, or at least, most of the world.) It seems we have come to the point where the left and right are living in completely separate realities.
Are there any possible solutions? As a nation, we may have to have some serious discussions about the future of our United States. Can we all continue living in the same country? Every day, this is looking less likely. A thinking person can already see future strife. If Derek Chauvin and his fellow officers walk (which is entirely possible, given that the Minneapolis D.A. overcharged them), the riots and looting will begin anew, and most likely with increased intensity. If President Trump is re-elected in November, there will be more unrest in the streets.
In order to have a united country, everyone has to be united around something. What do we have in common? Saying, "We all live within the same borders" isn't enough, especially since those borders are almost nonexistent anyway. Anything else? Well, we all enjoy consuming. We all like going out and buying things. Is that it? Is that all we have in common? Not only is that utterly pathetic, but it is the handwriting on the wall. In Lincoln's day, there were obvious divides in the country. But Americans then, no matter their opinions on slavery, still had a sense of shared values and what it meant to be an American.
No Columbus, no freedom - "He was a true hero whose faith in God was so strong that he braved the ocean in three tiny ships.
Everyone knew the world was round. They also knew the distance to China on a western route from Europe was 10,000 or so miles. As they thought the journey would be by ocean only, they doubted anyone would make it.
But Columbus went and was rewarded with the discovery islands which led to the discovery by others of new continents. Given the odds he faced in those tiny, leaky, wooden ships, the only way he could have made it was through divine intervention. God wanted his entire world revealed to Man at that particular moment in history for reasons known only to God. Leif Erikson's discovery of Canada almost 500 years earlier jumped the gun. Nothing came of it. But what if Columbus had not journeyed to the New World?"
Bishop Mitchell T. Rozanski - Diocese of Springfield Massachusetts - "In 2018, Bishop Rozanski said he was “shocked” and “saddened” by (Archbishop) Vigano’s call for the resignation of Pope Francis. While he believes that the issues brought forward by Vigano are “serious enough to warrant further review,” Rozanski wonders about the “true motivations” of Vigano and the “reliability of the entire letter.”
In November 2016, Bishop Rozanski told a local media outlet he wants priest to take a case by case basis for communion for divorced and remarried Catholics. He said there are many “different situations” of families in the Church and Pope Francis said to “close no one off.” I “believe in that,” he said. “In all of the situations, particularly in those difficult, difficult pastoral situations of the divorced and remarried (without an annulment), we cannot close them off.”
Speaking with media in April 2016, Bishop Rozanski said Amoris Laetitia shows Pope Francis’ “pastoral heart.” JESUS “never cut anybody off no matter what sin they had,” he said. Francis allows pastors to consider the “rights of individual conscience” regarding communion for divorced and remarried Catholics, Rozanski added, not being specific. Bishop Rozanski attended the 2018 annual Pro-Life of Pioneer Valley, Inc. breakfast. Rozanski thanked those in attendance for their pro-life witness and affirmed that “life that is so precious and such a gift from God.”
In a 2016 pastoral letter on evangelization, Bishop Rozanksi apologized to those who have ever felt unwelcome by the Church. He wrote that the reasons for feeling unwelcomed often have to do with “a sense of gender inequality as well as sexual orientation.” Rozanksi called this “unacceptable” and asked for forgiveness from those who have felt marginalized."
Bishop Mitchell Rozanski: Partisan politics over the demands of truth - "Pope Benedict XVI has said that while, "everyone has the right to leave home to seek better conditions of life in another country...At the same time, states have the right to regulate migration flows and to defend their own frontiers, always guaranteeing the respect due to the dignity of each and every human person." Pope Benedict XVI also said that immigrants have the duty to integrate into their host countries and respect their laws and national identities.
The challenge, as the Holy Father noted, is to "combine the welcome due to every human being, especially when in need, with a reckoning of what is necessary for both the local inhabitants and the new arrivals to live a dignified and peaceful life”. See here. As I said in a previous post, following the 1979 Iranian hostage crisis, during which the US embassy in Tehran was stormed and 52 Americans were held hostage for 444 days, President Jimmy Carter (a Democrat) severed diplomatic relations with and imposed sanctions on Iran. He also banned Iranians from entering the country.
Liberal hypocrites like Boston Mayor Marty Walsh conveniently ignore this fact as they attack Donald Trump for doing the same thing. Such is partisan politics. Bishop Mitchell Rozanski of the Springfield (Massachusetts) Diocese had a letter read in all parishes throughout the diocese expressing his disagreement with President Donald Trump's Executive Order. He also published a Facebook post expressing his disagreement. See here. I left a few comments politely disagreeing with His Excellency which were promptly deleted. This from the "welcoming" Bishop whose Secretary told me - last year - that if I didn't like certain comments from my parish priest I should look for another parish."
Earlier this week, Bishop Mitchell Rozanski authorized a change to norms for the sacrament of the anointing of the sick, permitting a nurse, rather than a priest, to conduct the physical anointing, which is an essential part of the sacrament. “I am allowing the assigned Catholic hospital chaplains, standing outside a patient's room or away from their bedside, to dab a cotton swab with Holy Oil and then allow a nurse to enter the patient's room and administer the oil,” Rozanski told priests in an email March 25. On Friday afternoon the diocese told CNA it had rescinded that policy. In fact, Rozanski emailed Springfield priests Friday afternoon explaining that “After further discussion and review, I am rescinding my previous directive and temporarily suspending the Anointing of the Sick in all instances.”
Why We Should All Be Troubled By Europe’s Violent Weekend - "Two revealing falsehoods have been foisted on a taciturn populace. One, that the raging mob violence has really anything to do about George Floyd, Black Lives Matter, or opposition to police brutality. Two, the rioters and looters, largely spearheaded by Antifa, are similar to the heroes who landed on in the beaches of Normandy under a hail of heavy machine gun fire. It’s a stirring version of alternate history. And it may even win Pulitzer Prize one day. But both these arguments were exposed as baseless, however, by the recent days of mayhem and violence across Europe." Watching in real time as Seattle descends into anarchy - "On Tuesday, the police in Seattle’s Eastern District had initially battled with the rioters, using tear gas and flash bangs. Eventually, recognizing that anything short of a military-style defense was a waste of police time and put police lives at risk, the police abandoned the Eastern Precinct. They shredded important and confidential documents, boarded up the windows, and walked away, leaving the people whom they serve to the mob’s mercy.
The mob set up barricades around the streets and announced a new independent community called the “Capitol Hill autonomous zone” or “Free Capitol Hill.” Because this is Seattle, residents of the city, rather than looking at the probably and imminent end of a comfortable life predicated on the smooth functioning of modern civil services (law enforcement, food delivery, garbage pick-ups, street cleaning, etc.), Immediately donated huge amounts of food, water, and medical supplies to allow the anarchists to settle in for a long siege."
ACTING LIKE KIDS - Absolute Mayhem: Cornel West Goes Berserk on Fox News' Hannity - "Cornel West and civil rights attorney Leo Terrell were supposed to have a civil segment on defunding the police, urban violence, and Democratic incompetence at addressing these issues, but things went off the hinges almost immediately. It was absolute mayhem on Sean Hannity’s show on Fox News. Hannity prefaced the segment about the Democrats’ inability to govern, which was interrupted by West. The shouting began almost immediately. Terrell hit back at West for just recycling old Democratic talking points. He then tried to have a discussion with West, “black man to black man,” which West did not take well at all. The two shouted over one another, with Terrell not liking West calling him “brother.” VIDEO - Democrats Embrace the ‘Four Stages of Ideological Subversion’ - "Alinksy’s seminal book specified 13 Rules for Radicals, but Bezmenov had only four “stages of ideological subversion,” and they will sound very familiar to anyone following the current wave of left-wing riots, or the politicized final stages of the coronavirus panic before it: Demoralization, Destabilization, Crisis, and Normalization. Bezmenov defined ideological subversion, or “active measures” as the KGB preferred to call it, as a “slow brainwashing process” to “change the perception of reality of every American to such an extent that despite their abundance of information, no one is able to come to sensible conclusions in the interests of defending themselves, their families, their their community, and their country.” No, Black Lives Do Not “Matter More Than Yours” - "It’s always discouraging to see Christians duped by forces of darkness that parade as angels of light, but this is exactly what’s happening among those who are embracing the message of Black Lives Matter and using Scripture to justify the movement’s ideology." Blacks call police for help 7 times as frequently as whites and other inconvenient truths - "On Thursday, Los Angeles became the first U.S. city to make good on its threat to beginning defunding its police force. The initial phase of the plan, as Hans Bader noted, will cut the city’s police department budget by $150 million...Perhaps the most tragic part of eliminating police is that the segment of society this “reform” is meant to help — the black community — would suffer the most grievously. After the murders of Ramos and Liu, residents of the largely black Brooklyn community they had been patrolling complained about the wait times for police to arrive when called. As former New York City Mayor Rudolph Giuliani points in this interview with Fox News Channel’s Bill Hemmer, black people call the police for help seven times more frequently than whites do. And with good reason. As Giuliani also notes: (In) 70 percent to 75 percent of the homicides in New York City, the victims are African-American and the perpetrators are African-American." 1,288 ‘Public Health Professionals’ Disgrace Their Profession - "Ramesh alluded to an open letter signed by over 1,000 “public health professionals, infectious diseases professionals, and community stakeholders.” The letter argues that it’s okay if the current protests/riots spread COVID-19 because racism is itself a public-health issue that needs to be addressed. Let’s take that argument seriously for a moment and ask a follow-up question: Why, then, was there so much criticism of the anti-lockdown protests? The premise of those protests was that continuing lockdowns caused far more economic damage than was necessary. If anything is a public-health issue, surely record unemployment, social isolation, and bans on people going to hospitals for non-urgent care should count." The Sacred Heart Symbol - "The Sacred Heart (also known as the Sacred Heart of Jesus) has one of the deepest meanings in the Roman Catholic practice. The symbol represents Jesus Christ’s actual heart as His love for all of humanity. The Sacred Heart can be depicted a few different ways. The most common depiction is of the heart has a circle of thorns that represent the crown of thorns that was placed on Jesus’ head. It also may have a cross, which represents the Crucifixion. Other symbols may have a flame or light surrounding it, which signifies the divine light of love. You will mostly see the Sacred Heart in a portrait of Jesus Christ. - Also see: History of the Sacred Heart..." A Deliberately Bankrupted America - "Already stressed family bonds broke under this strain. Currently 77% percent of African Americans are born into unmarried families. The family pictures of son, father, and grandson is almost unknown in our poorest communities. The anger and pain of sons abandoned by their fathers is a lifelong wound. The consequences of numerous short-term disposable relationships is abusive stepparents and the loss of positive male role models. When the patriarchy is smashed, there are no fathers to guide boys to manhood, and the masculinity that remains is too often toxic.
When 2 thirds of students are not at grade level, maintaining standards is impossible without drastic reform. Our schools and our culture do not support societal stability. They are creating a nation of moral and spiritual midgets. With the Biblical Ten Commandments ridiculed for a generation, looters of every background across the nation defy the unknown command “Thou Shalt Not Steal.” Rather than heed Jesus’ example of forgiveness, grievance is nurtured and encouraged.
Time for Trump Haters to Put America First - "Once again, President Donald Trump is being scapegoated for societal problems that he didn't cause. He didn't bring the coronavirus to our shores, and he has not created an atmosphere of racial disharmony in this country. Is there anything Trump's haters won't blame on him? They've been trying to remove him since before he was sworn in, and every time they fail, they find another excuse -- from the Russia-collusion hoax to Ukraine to the coronavirus to economic hardship from the shutdown to the murder of George Floyd to the subsequent mayhem in our cities. Trump roundly condemned George Floyd's murder shortly after it occurred, but that wasn't enough. He condemned the organized thugs who hijacked the protests to vandalize, loot and endanger innocent people, but that was unacceptable. By condemning the anarchists, he was somehow chilling the peaceful protesters' free speech rights and showing insensitivity to their cause and their pain." Boston man accused of shooting at 21 police officers during Sunday night's violence - "John Boampong, 37, of Dorchester is being held without bail following a Wednesday hearing in Boston Municipal Court, during which Suffolk County prosecutors presented evidence to prove that he presented a danger to the public. He was arraigned on 21 counts of armed assault with intent to murder in connection with the shooting that happened on Providence Street in the early hours of Monday morning." George Floyd Had Tested Positive for Coronavirus Before His Fatal Police Encounter - "The full autopsy for Floyd was released on Wednesday from the Hennepin County Medical Examiner’s Office. Chief Medical Examiner Andrew Baker said that Floyd had tested positive for the coronavirus on April 3 but was reportedly asymptomatic. He also noted that Floyd’s lungs looked fine at the autopsy but he had narrow arteries in his heart, which may have resulted in the heart attack during the police encounter." George Floyd Funeral, Memorial Services’ Details Emerge - "The Minneapolis Star Tribune reported there will be two memorials. One, in Minneapolis, is scheduled from 1 to 3 p.m. Thursday. The second is set from 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday in North Carolina, where Floyd was born. A public viewing is scheduled June 8 at The Fountain of Praise Church near Houston, where Floyd grew up, from noon to 6 p.m., Click2Houston reported. His funeral is planned for 11 a.m. the next day at the church, with a burial to follow. In a news release, officials said the funeral is a ticketed event."
Her video is titled "Confession: George Floyd is neither a martyr or a hero. But I hope his family gets justice." In the video itself (most easily accessible on YouTube), apparently shot on a cell phone, Owens made it clear that "[w]hat I am saying is not any defense for [Floyd's accused murderer] Derek Chauvin. The family of George Floyd deserves justice for the way that he died." She added, however, that "I also am not going to accept the narrative that this is the best the black community has to offer."
American Civilization and Its Discontents - Column: Civil unrest and the birth of a new progressive morality - "By the middle of the 20th century, Kristol said, in words that echo in the present, the American people were "behaving in a way that would have alarmed the founding fathers even as it would have astonished them. To put it bluntly, they are more and more behaving like a collection of mobs." How did this happen? The neoconservative analysis goes like this: Beginning in the 19th century, writers, artists, philosophers, and intellectuals adopted an adversarial stance toward the dominant "bourgeois" ethos of orthodox religiosity, marital fidelity, conventional morality, and traditional manners. With the advent of mass media and the rise of higher education in the 20th century, the adversarial impulse permeated the institutions of culture. It gained more adherents in each rising generation." More than 70 premium cars stolen from dealership amid looting in Northern California - "Police in Northern California are searching for suspects after rioters reportedly stole more than 70 premium cars from a dealership near San Francisco Sunday night. San Leandro Chrysler Dodge Jeep dealership owner Carlos Hidalgo said that although he blocked the exits as a precaution, the thieves “started ramming, ramming until they could get out. They took out chains and fence posts. It was a very malicious act..." Millions Of Americans Skip Payments As Tidal Wave Of Defaults And Evictions Looms - "Americans are skipping payments on mortgages, auto loans and other bills. Normally, that could mean massive foreclosures, evictions, cars repossessions and people’s credit getting destroyed. But much of that has been put on pause. Help from Congress and leniency from lenders have kept impending financial disaster at bay for millions of people. But that may not last for long." STUDY: 99.3 percent of Broadcast Networks' Protest Coverage Ignores Mob's Murder Victims - "Broadcast networks ABC, CBS, and NBC have been consistent cheerleaders for the nationwide protests against police brutality, offering nearly 12 hours of coverage (710 minutes) over the past seven days on just their flagship morning and evening news shows. But despite dedicating all of those hours of airtime to the protests and riots, these networks have barely breathed a word about those who have died in the resulting violence." Mask or Muzzle? - "The effects of the Chinese Coronavirus pandemic are redefining life for many Americans, but none of the virus’ effects are more surprising than how it’s transforming surgical masks into muzzles. A tool designed to prevent the spread of infection has instead become one used to silence free speech. A surgical mask is not designed to have any effect on the translation of thoughts into speech. However, when their use is required by liberal-progressive “stay home, stay healthy” restrictions they become a tool to silence dissent. By mindlessly donning a mask we are signaling our allegiance to the nanny state." Top 10 Reasons I Won't Support the BlackLivesMatter Movement - "Every life unjustly killed deserves justice. In the cause to make things right, I will not join a movement that has nearly everything wrong. More innocent lives have now been killed (including cops) since these predominantly violent protests began over George Floyd’s horrific death. What about the black lives killed in this nationwide chaos? Do they matter?" Judge Drops the Hammer on Hillary Clinton, Orders Her to Testify on Emails - "Despite all the evidence handed over by the State Department since Judicial Watch sued in 2014, Lamberth said he still wants to know when Clinton first learned that department employees were unaware of the existence of her private server, according to the ruling.“ And why did she think that using a private server to conduct State Department business was permissible under the law in the first place?” the judge said. What It's Gonna Take - Colleges face a host of daunting considerations, beyond testing for coronavirus infection, when it comes to reopening - "Testing, contact tracing and isolation and quarantining of ill individuals are among the steps public health experts say will have to be taken. But myriad other measures will also have to adopted. A 20-page document from the American College Health Association outlines considerations for colleges to take into account, from local public health challenges to containment and surveillance capabilities of campuses to the need to space out students in residence and dining halls. The ideal, the guidance states, would be to have one resident per room and per bathroom, which is not how most college dormitories are currently set up." The Left’s Normalization Of Collective Guilt Is Ripping America Apart - "I was nowhere near the intersection of Chicago Avenue and 38th Street when George Floyd tragically lost his life. I wasn’t in Minnesota. I was more than 500 miles away. With the exception of the officers at that heartbreaking scene, there are more than 329 million additional Americans who had no part in that terrible evening. So why are so many people acting as if it were their knee, not Derek Chauvin’s, that pressed down on George Floyd? The answer lies in the concerted effort of radical leftists and their unwitting accomplices to normalize the collectivization of guilt."
“They’re making a big mistake," he said during a press conference. "They’re putting their public at risk. They’re putting our progress at risk." It's been a full month since the revised order took effect, and the counties would certainly push back on the idea that reopening was a "big mistake." The health officer for the two counties, Dr. Ngoc-Phuong Luu, crafted a health order that allowed restaurants, personal care services, gyms, libraries, shopping malls and several other businesses that fall into "Stage 3" of the state's reopening plan to reopen on May 4 — so long as businesses implement safety measures such as mask mandates and six feet of physical distancing between customers. Bars, nightclubs, places of worship and other sites for large gatherings remained closed."
Riot-Embracing Democrat Party Just Had Its Worst Week in 50 Years - "We like to believe we’re living in unprecedented times, but we aren’t. The left is just rioting, looting, and burning like it’s 1968; and the Democrat Party is appeasing the rioters and going soft on crime like it’s 1968. Trust me, there is nothing new under the sun, much less a gang of spoiled crybabies abusing a cause to justify their marauding, much less a Democrat Party believing they can harness that power to electoral victory, much less a corrupt media aiding and abetting it all."
Of course, if you watch the Counterfeit News Network or read The New York Times, you may feel like you need to purchase a lifetime supply of Prozac. But it is not all bad news. All you need to do is look at the latest private payroll data to see that the U.S. is about to embark upon the shortest recession in history. But while you still may need to swallow cartons of Pepto Bismol for the rest of 2020, you can toss those razor blades in the trash!...
The market does a better job of assessing the labor situation than the government. Home base, a scheduling software company, maintains a real-time economic indicator of employment and hours worked because many of its customers are in the retail industry. Its data show that the U.S. economy may have already clawed back more than five million jobs of the total number of lost positions eliminated during the nursing-home epidemic. Put simply, the U.S. is beginning to rise from the ashes of the three-month period of loneliness, misery, suffering, and unhappiness that swept the nation."
COMMENTARY: Optimistic opinion, but in reality, thousands of business have shutdown, gone bankrupt, and will NOT reopen. Things will never be the same until the moral decline in our country is reversed and we acknowledge that our grave sins brought on this chastisement from Almighty God and we, from our hearts, ask the Lord for His forgiveness. vtb
California Faces “Financial Collapse” As It Moves To Allow Businesses To Walk Away From Commercial Leases - "One of the bedrocks of modern US capitalism – which is now mutating by the day if not hour as the Fed scrambles to preserve at any cost its the towering edifice after decades of malinvestment, even the nationalziation of the very capital markets that made America great – and one of the constants along with death and taxes, is that residential debt is non-recourse, meaning one can simply walk away from one’s mortgage if the bill is untenable, while commercial debt is recourse, or pledged by collateral that has to be handed over to the creditor if an event of default occurs. However, in the aftermath of the sheer devastation unleashed upon countless small and medium commercial businesses which will be forced to file for bankruptcy by the thousands, this may all change soon." IT COULD HAPPEN HERE TOO - Coronavirus: Iran fears second wave after surge in cases - 'The health ministry said 3,574 new Covid-19 infections were recorded on Wednesday - the third consecutive day the figure has exceeded 3,000. Another 59 people with the disease died, raising the toll to 8,071. The president has said restrictions may be re-imposed if people do not follow social distancing and hygiene rules. Before Wednesday's new infections were reported, bringing the overall total to 164,270, the previous high was 3,186 on 30 March. The number of cases then declined steadily until 2 May, when 802 were recorded. "The Dis-connect Between History and Neo-Paganism” - "Observing the societal changes taking place in America during the 1960s-70s, Jean-Francois Revel wrote: “The Revolution of the twentieth century will take place in the United States. It is only there that it can happen. And it has already begun. Whether or not that revolution spreads to the rest of the world depends on whether or not it succeeds first in America… Earth Day… in America was one huge pantheistic feast… The young men and women… walked naked through the forests, singing and playing guitars… We can there conclude that a counter-culture… has already sprung up in the United States… a demand for absolute individual and cultural freedom, without moral censorship.”
Revel, a French Socialist both welcomed these changes and was puzzled by the cultural mix of left-leaning politics and neo-pagan religious views. He was critical of the hippies for what he called "their nebulous ideology, which is a mixture of confused Orientalism and adulterated primitivism."
Trump’s New China Strategy Is a Deft Brand of Hard-Nosed Realism - "There is a refreshing candor reflected in the statement “the United States sees no value in engaging with Beijing for symbolism and pageantry; we instead demand tangible results and constructive outcomes.” It suggests a long-term commitment to results, as opposed to meaningless agreements or gestures“ … For those unfair Chinese trade practices that are subject to dispute settlement at the [World Trade Organization], the U.S. continues to pursue and win multiple cases.” It’s hard to read into this and other references to the WTO in the report that the U.S. is about to pull out of the WTO. In fact, the report goes on to reference the “robust trilateral process” among the U.S., European Union, and Japan “to develop disciplines for state-owned enterprises, industrial subsidies, and forced technology transfers.” Where will these new rules ultimately reside? The WTO. The Strategic Approach is about WTO reform, not withdrawal." TALE OF THE TAPE - Latest Poll: Trump Voters Far More Enthusiastic Than Biden’s - "When Scott Rasmussen asked 1,200 registered voters: “Are you enthusiastic about your support for [Trump or Biden], or is he simply the lesser of two evils?” the results were remarkable. Seventy-six percent of them said they were enthusiastic about President Trump, compared to just 49 percent about former Vice President Joe Biden. Even more remarkable is their response to the second half of that question: 41 percent think Biden is the lesser of two evils, while just 17 percent think that Trump is." FAR FROM BEING "PEACEFUL" - Nets Hype 'Peaceful' Protests 42x While Giving Seconds to Man Murdered by Looters - "The big three networks continued to gaslight Americans by insisting that protests and riots across the country were “mostly peaceful” while cities burn, policemen are attacked and both officers and bystanders are assaulted and in some cases, murdered. Another one of these tragic cases happened Tuesday as 77-year-old retired police captain David Dorn was murdered by looters who shot him in cold blood so they could steal televisions. His murder was allegedly live streamed on Facebook. ABC and CBS only spent seconds on his death while NBC completely ignored the senseless murder. Instead, all three networks repeated how “peaceful” the protests were forty-two times this morning alone." EVIL NEVER UNITES - The Controlled Burn Rages out of Control - "In the wake of riots that have spread across America, leaving shattered businesses and wounded communities in their wake, it feels as though our nation is collapsing around us. That's bizarre, considering that virtually all Americans agree with the following two propositions: first, that it is evil for a police officer to place his knee on the neck of a prone suspect struggling to breathe for eight long minutes, and second, that breaking store windows, stealing televisions and shoes, beating business owners, and attacking police officers is wrong. That seeming unanimity should mean unity in the face of police brutality and rioting and looting. It doesn't." UCLA Students Demand Dismissal of Professors Who Refuse to Cancel Final Exams Over Floyd Death - "Thanks for your suggestion in your email below that I give black students special treatment, given the tragedy in Minnesota," Klein wrote in his response email. "Do you know the names of the classmates that are black? How can I identify them since we've been having online classes only? Are there any students that may be of mixed parentage, such as half black-half Asian? What do you suggest I do with respect to them? A full concession or just half?" Klein concluded his email with a quote from Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. that people should not be evaluated based on the color of their skin." THE PRESS SHOWS IT'S MISGUIDED REASONING - The Media’s Riot Defenders - "If peaceful armed protesters are voicing frustration with a lockdown, as happened in Democratic darling Gov. Gretchen Whitmer’s state of Michigan, they see anarchy. But when smashed windows and mutilated civilians can be contorted into an issue of "racial justice," then fealty to their hard-left ideology trumps any concern for safety or sanity..."The press," Rosenthal wrote of the Crown Heights riots, "treats it all as some kind of cultural clash between a poverty-ridden people fed up with life and a powerful, prosperous and unfortunately peculiar bunch of stuck-up neighbors." Boy, 7, Saves His 20-Year-Old Sister from Drowning in Pool After She Had a Seizure and Fell in - "A little boy from Georgia is being called a hero after saving his sister from drowning in a pool after she fell in. Morgan Smith, 20, was on the bottom step of the pool last week when she suddenly began to see black spots.... Smith has no recollection of what happened after.Aiden McCullough, 7, explained to the news outlet that his sister had a seizure and fell backward.
“I was thinking like, ‘Oh my God. Oh My God. She’s going to die..." Acting fast, Aiden grabbed Smith by the hair and held her above the water, according to the outlet. He said he screamed for help until someone ran outside. Smith said she is now filled with so much gratitude. She is thankful Aiden was “in the right place at the right time.”
DC bishop under fire for ‘partisan attack’ of Trump’s visit to Catholic shrine - "Brian Burch, the president of CatholicVote, a political Catholic organization, said Trump's visit to the shrine and executive order should be "celebrated" by those who love the church and religious freedom. "It is regrettable that the Archbishop of Washington chose this occasion to engage in a partisan attack on the President, especially when the country is in desperate need of healing and unity," Burch said in a statement." Archbishop Gregory bashes Knights of Columbus, President - "Wilton Gregory woke up and spoke up. Not on public Masses, or confessions, or any sacraments. He chose to make his most public statement of the year to condemn the Knights of Columbus and the U.S. president for a visit to the John Paul II shrine in DC for an event on international religious freedom. Today marks the anniversary of JPII's famous nine day pilgrimage that started with a liturgy in Warsaw on June 2, 1979... .
The JPII shrine, OWNED by the Knights of Columbus, issued a response to Gregory's attack. Archbishop Gregory, whose "mentor" was the infamous Cardinal Joseph Bernardin (who made him auxiliary bishop of Chicago) is a longtime liberal, the focus of this March 2019 piece when he replaced Cardinal Donald Wuerl. Gregory's "installation" ceremony featured disgraced Cardinal Roger Mahony. Since then he has been a typical leftist bishop, but relatively quiet until today.
"All Are Welcome" of course. Except when they're not. This is the Church of Wilton Gregory."
DC Riots and Bishop Mariann Budde’s Selective Episcopal Outrage - “I am outraged,” Budde told the Post about Trump’s posturing in an interview a short time later, pausing between words to emphasize her anger as her voice slightly trembled. She had nothing critical to say about the burning of one of her churches, which according to the parish vestry incurred about $20,000 in damages, mostly to the church nursery...
The Post report noted both Budde and Curry “are among the pantheon of progressive religious leaders who have long been critical of Trump’s political agenda.” I was last present in the now-damaged St. John’s parish house as it hosted a press conference for the Religious Coalition on Reproductive Choice, a progressive lobby that voices approval from religious officials for unrestricted abortion-on-demand, and which counts the Episcopal Church as a member...
Budde draws a distinction between those engaged in peaceful protest, opportunistic looters and violent organized provocateurs like Antifa. Would she do the same if the partisan affiliations were flipped? The danger of selective outrage is in exposing one’s self as another partisan instead of acting like a senior shepherd."
President Trump Rules Out Deploying Troops to Restore Order - "According to administration officials, Trump is happy with the result of yesterday’s enforcement measures during the riots – which included law enforcement officials being shot and police getting hit by SUVs. He will not be using the Insurrection Act to put troops on the streets to restore order anytime soon. “The law is absolutely still on the table if things get really bad, but as of now he doesn’t think it’s going to have to go that far," “As President Trump has said, we cannot allow the voices of peaceful protesters to be drowned out by angry mobs, which is why the President will continue to take lawful, decisive action to stop the violence and restore the security of all Americans,” White House spokesman Judd Deere said." NY Police Union: 'We Are Losing the City, We Have No Leadership, No Direction, No Plan' - "Mullins then quoted from some of the messages he has received from fellow sergeants in the NYPD: “Total nightmare last night. The executives of the NYPD are going to get a member of the service killed. They have no plan set in motion.” “You have inspectors and Chiefs running around the city with no direction. Leave the police work to the frontline supervisors.” “I’ve been at these riots since the beginning. I have been hit with eggs, bricks, rocks.” “My officers are depleted, tired, beat up.” “Our officers and supervisors are getting hurt every night DOING THEIR JOBS without ANY support from our PC & Mayor.” ”I am so angry with how this has been handled its bringing me to tears with frustration to write it…for the 1st time in my 16yr career all ranks have been abandoned by our leadership." VENGEANCE IS NOT THE RESPONSE OF TRULY GOOD PEOPLE - False 'racist cops' narrative fuels open season on police - "In Oakland, California, federal officer Dave Patrick Underwood was killed by someone who fired at him from a vehicle. In New York, the scene of some of the most rampant looting, a police sergeant was mowed down in a vicious hit-and-run, and another officer struck by a vehicle. In Buffalo, an officer and a state trooper were injured when a car brutally plowed into a police skirmish line. In Las Vegas, two officers were struck by gunfire — one in the head. And in St. Louis, four more were shot." Ted Cruz to Joe Biden: Why Are You Supporting People Who Destroy Black Businesses? - “The problem that bothers me,” the woman said as she stood outside of a business in which she said she shares ownership. “You said black lives matter. Why don’t you choke me? I’m black. Look what you did to my store. Look what you did to my store. “We’ve been here all night cleaning up,” the woman said. “All night cleaning.” “You lied,” the woman said. “You wanted to loot a store. You needed money. Get a job, like I do. Stop stealing. It’s the neighborhood.” Bad News For the Media: Overwhelming Majority Of Americans Support Trump’s Plan To Use Military To Squash Riots - "In stark contrast to what the liberal media would like you to believe, a new poll shows that a vast majority of Americans – including Democrats – support the military being called in to assist police forces in stopping violent riots. The Morning Consult Poll finds that an astonishing 58 percent of Americans would like to see cities call in the military to help put an end to the vandalism, looting, arson, and in some cases, blatant assaults against peaceful citizens, sparked by the George Floyd case." The Media Are Lying To You About Everything, Including The Riots - "They lied about the Trump campaign colluding with Russia in 2016. They lied about the Mueller probe and Brett Kavanaugh and former national security adviser Mike Flynn. They lied about Trump’s phone call with the Ukrainian president and the impeachment farce that ensued. They lied about the coronavirus and the lockdowns and the White House response. And now they’re lying about the riots. In recent days we’ve heard a steady drumbeat of lies, distortions, and disingenuousness from the mainstream media about almost every aspect of the unrest now gripping American cities. The deceit is almost too pervasive and amorphous to describe..." The lying about Donald Trump is now completely out of control - "Based on some of the TV coverage, you’d think Trump had actually spit on the memory of George Floyd, the black man who died in Minneapolis while a white police officer kneeled on his neck. In reality, Trump has been exceedingly sensitive and respectful to Floyd’s memory, calling his death a “tragedy” that “should have never happened.” He added that the incident “filled Americans all over the country with horror, anger and grief." CNN's Chris Cuomo blasted for suggesting protesters don't have to be 'peaceful' - "Critics slammed the "Cuomo Prime Time" anchor, many of them pointing to the Constitution. "Yeah it's not like the First Amendment specifies our rights as 'peaceably to assemble,'" The Federalist publisher Ben Domenech quipped. "Protests absolutely don't have to be polite, but the law says they must be peaceful," Washington Examiner reporter Jerry Dunleavy told Cuomo." NYT Magazine reporter suggests destroying property 'is not violence' - "Hannah-Jones, who recently won the Pultizer Prize for the polarizing "1619 Project," went on to say that "any reasonable person" would discourage the destruction of other people's property but said "these are not reasonable times," pointing to the years of protesting against police brutality.
"So when we have people who say that people should respect the law, they’re not respecting the law because the law is not respecting them. You can’t say that- that regular citizens should play by all of the rules when agents of the state are clearly are not," she told CBSN..."According to this logic, burning down a building isn’t an act of violence. What a sophomoric and morally bankrupt defense of the indefensible," National Review editor Rich Lowry reacted. "'Destroying property is not violence.' Those looters with crowbars and bricks smashing windows and stealing last night? Not violent at all. In fact it’s *immoral* to imply they were!" political commentator Andrew Sullivan slammed Hannah-Jones."
In fact, about 85 percent of those arrested gave in-state addresses. Intelligence reports, detailed by a security expert, indicate that “most of the hard-core protestors in Minneapolis are far-left or anarchists, and that far-right groups have not yet made a significant appearance.”
HUMAN BEINGS ACTING LIKE ANIMALS - PHOTOS & VIDEOS - LIVE UPDATES: Protests continue across America in wake of George Floyd death - "California National Guard soldiers were being deployed in Los Angeles following a request from Mayor Eric Garcetti. The mayor said he asked California Gov. Gavin Newsom for 500 to 700 members of the Guard to help secure the city. Los Angeles police used tear gas to break up a crowd of about 200 to 300 people at Rodeo and Santa Monica Boulevard after the gathering was declared illegal, FOX 11 of Los Angeles reported. In the Bay Area, looters tore through stores in Emeryville, smashing windows and running off with merchandise, FOX 2 of the Bay Area reported.
Violence in San Francisco prompted Mayor London Breed to issue a curfew at 8 p.m. local time. She also asked Gov. Newsom to place National Guard personnel on standby."
VIDEOS - Cars burned, stores looted after Seattle protests turn destructive; dozens arrested - "Around 5 p.m., Seattle Mayor Jenny Durkan announced an emergency curfew from 5 p.m. to 5 a.m. for both Saturday and Sunday to prevent more violence and widespread property damage. All people were ordered to disperse from the downtown core and refrain from traveling in and through Seattle. The curfew applies to the entire city. Watch the news conference. At 6 p.m., she declared a civil emergency and banned the use of weapons, both formal and informal -- such as pipes and rocks -- throughout the city. Durkan asked Gov. Jay Inslee to activate up to 200 members of the Washington National Guard. They are unarmed and will manage traffic and crowds, and help protect property in Seattle for the next seven days." TRUE FAITH CONTINUES TO DECLINE - Pittsburgh diocese to consolidate 61 parishes into 15 - "The mergers, to be completed July 1, will reduce the number of parishes in the diocese of Pittsburgh from 152 to 106. Bishop David Zubik told parishioners in a letter that “This has not been a simple task” but spoke of the need for sacrifice and said “You are positioning your new parish for more effective ministry by addressing financial needs, sharing resources and allowing your clergy to focus on the spiritual work for which they were ordained.” U.S. MUST CONTINUE TO BE PREPARED - Navy builds 10 new heavily armed frigate warships - "The Navy’s vision and mission scope for its emerging new combat-capable frigate includes the ability to destroy swarming small boat attacks, operate undersea and aerial drones, support carrier strike groups, conduct disaggregated operations, attack enemies with an over-the-horizon missile and engage in advanced surface and anti-submarine warfare. These plans for the ship are taking a large step forward, following the Navy’s recent ship development award to Marinette Marine Corp. for up to 10 new Guided Missile Frigates (FFX(X)). Concepts for the ship include an advanced, heavily armed frigate with a stronger, reinforced hull, space armor, over-the-horizon missiles and a wider complement of additional high-tech weapons. Sure enough, according to Navy officials, the ship is now being designed as much more than a “toughened” Littoral Combat Ship, but a ship with an even wider combat scope to include additional air-defenses, AGIS radar systems and major missile attack options with Mk 41 Vertical Launch Systems."
The continued violence and destruction of property endangers the lives and livelihoods of others, and interferes with the rights of peaceful protestors, as well as all other citizens. It also undercuts the urgent work that needs to be done – through constructive engagement between affected communities and law enforcement leaders – to address legitimate grievances. Preventing reconciliation and driving us apart is the goal of these radical groups, and we cannot let them succeed.
It is the responsibility of state and local leaders to ensure that adequate law enforcement resources, including the National Guard where necessary, are deployed on the streets to reestablish law and order.
We saw this finally happen in Minneapolis last night, and it worked. Federal law enforcement actions will be directed at apprehending and charging the violent radical agitators who have hijacked peaceful protest and are engaged in violations of federal law. To identify criminal organizers and instigators, and to coordinate federal resources with our state and local partners, federal law enforcement is using our existing network of 56 regional FBI Joint Terrorism Task Forces (JTTF). The violence instigated and carried out by Antifa and other similar groups in connection with the rioting is domestic terrorism and will be treated accordingly.”
NO RESPECT, NO DIGNITY - Caught on Tape: Rioters Spray Profane Graffiti on St. Patrick’s Cathedral in New York - "Recent reports show numerous riots occurring in the United States in response to the death of George Floyd. Violence and civil unrest is occurring throughout the country. St. Patrick’s Cathedral in New York fell victim to the unrest after rioters vandalized the historic landmark yesterday. Several photos surfaced on social media depicting the desecration, which included profanity. Video surveillance also surfaced of the rioters-in-action." Videos: Man Carrying American Flag Beaten By Antifa & BLM, Another Has Teeth Knocked Out By The Far-Left Extremists - We’re supposed to believe it’s white supremacists causing all the disruption. Media members, content to blame nationwide rioting and looting on President Donald Trump, forwarded a false story this morning that white nationalists are being fingered as the culprits behind the majority of the crimes we saw in Minneapolis. There’s a number of protesters who think the violence is justified, so they won’t condemn it. They’ll either give silent approval or flat out make excuses. And they bring shame to their message — one that George Floyd’s family said he wouldn’t support. But they won’t listen to that." HOW ABOUT GOATS MILK?? - Almonds Are Out. Dairy Is a Disaster. So What Milk Should We Drink? - "For environmentally minded consumers, the news is hard to swallow: almond milk is not healthy for the planet and the popular milk substitute is especially hard on bees. Our recent investigation into the connection between California’s industrialized almond industry and a record 50bn commercial bee deaths created quite a buzz. The widely read story prompted one primary response from readers: “What should we be drinking instead?” BUT SOME RESTRAINT IS STILL REQUIRED - Neck Hold Used By Minneapolis Officer Was Approved By Department Policy - "According to the policy, a neck restraint can be used as a form of a “non-deadly option” and is defined as “compressing one or both sides of a person’s neck with an arm or leg, without applying direct pressure to the trachea or airway (front of the neck).” Chauvin was applying pressure to the back and side of the neck and not in the front and appeared to be compliant with existing policy." TROUBLED PAST - George Floyd, fired officer Derek Chauvin worked at same Minneapolis nightclub - "A white Minneapolis police officer and the black man he's charged with killing both worked as security guards at the same Latin nightclub as recently as last year, but its former owner says she's not sure if they knew each other'' What she is certain of is how aggressive Officer Derek Chauvin became when the club hosted events that drew a mainly black clientele, responding to fights by taking out his mace and spraying the crowd, a tactic she told him was unjustified "overkill." "He would mace everyone instead of apprehending the people who were fighting," said Maya Santamaria, former owner of El Nuevo Rodeo club in Minneapolis. "He would call backup. The next thing you would know, there would five or six squad cars." MORE TROUBLE ON THE HORIZON - BEIRUT - "Warplanes, a mix of at least 14 MiG-29 fighters and Su-24 fighter bombers, appear to have taken off from a base in Russia sometime in the middle of May and flown to Hmeimeem, Russia’s airbase on Syria’s Mediterranean coast. There they were repainted, their Russian Federation Air Force markings obscured, before flying more than 1,200 miles and landing in eastern Libya, in territories controlled by Russia’s ally, strongman-in-waiting Khalifa Haftar." TOUGH TALK NEVER HEARD BY CHINA BEFORE - Trump is right to ditch 5 decades of failed US-China engagement policy - "On the issue of Hong Kong, Chinese leaders were undoubtedly waiting to see if Trump would withdraw America’s special treatment of the beleaguered territory on trade and other issues. Some thought Trump would not do this, making this issue a test of his resolve. In meeting the test, the president showed political will rarely seen in American leaders. Most observers thought the president would concentrate his remarks on Hong Kong. The surprising aspect of the comments was their comprehensive nature. Moreover, the tone of the president’s words – he was not only adversarial but also angry – broke with decades of precedent. Chinese leaders have not heard an American leader talk to them this way in public." VIDEO - WISDOM FROM THE PAST BEING IGNORED - Alveda King: "As riots spread across US, heed words of my Uncle Martin Luther King to end violence and racism. As my uncle, the prophet Rev. Martin Luther King Jr., who was also killed by a white man, famously said, he dreamt of a world where people 'will not be judged by the color of their skin but by the content of their character.'” Amen
