CATHOLIC MESSAGES - "Traditional Catholic Values - Serving People of all Faiths"

Archbishop Sheen: "Who is going to save our Church?  Not our bishops, not our priests and religious, said Abp. Sheen. "It is up to you, the people. You have the minds, the eyes, the ears to save the Church. Your mission is to see that your priests act like priests, your bishops, like bishops, and your religious act like religious."

"Reason tells us a person, whether he is a member of the clergy or not, must stop any sinful action. If we do not we are taking on the sin ourselves. If it were breaking a civil law and we withheld information we could even be criminally charged. Dozens of saints, statesmen and others also tell us this. One example is Edmund Burke: Evil will triumph only when good men do nothing. Defend your faith!"

"In the final analysis, Christ is the Church, and the Church is Christ, and the Church embraces as her members all the righteous patriarchs and prophets of the Old Covenant freed from limbo by Christ’s harrowing of Hades. One Holy Spirit speaks of One Holy God in One Holy Church from Adam to today."

Commentary: Sadly, we are no longer One, Holy, Catholic & Apostolic Church.  Many within the Church have shut out the Holy Spirit from their daily lives and from their important decisions.  Our bishops are weak and often unresponsive to our complaints, and that only makes matters worse.  Compliment a bishop or priest and you will get a "thank you," but any form of complaint is met with silence or even sarcasm.  vtb

Commentary:Bishop Sheen was truly "a man for all seasons."  vtb

"The twentieth century was one of the most crucial in human history, with its tragic and cruel events culminating in the assassination attempt on the “sweet Christ on earth”. Now a veil is drawn back on a series of events which make history and interpret it in depth, in a spiritual perspective alien to present-day attitudes, often tainted with rationalism."

"Around four o’clock in the afternoon on January 3rd 1944, in the convent chapel of Tuy, in front of the Tabernacle, Our Lady urged Sister Lucia to write the text of the Third Secret and Sister Lucia recounts:  “I felt my spirit inundated by a mystery of light that is God and in Him I saw and heard the point of a lance like a flame that is detached touch the axis of the earth and it trembles: mountains, cities, towns and villages with their inhabitants are buried...."

"The sins of the world are very great."  "If men knew what eternity is, they would do everything to change their lives."  "Men are lost because they do not think of the death of Our Lord and do not do penance."  "Many marriages are not good; they do not please Our Lord, and they are not of God."  "The sins that lead more souls to hell are the sins of the flesh."  "Fashions that will greatly offend Our Lord will appear. People who serve God should not follow fashions. The Church has no fashions. Our Lord is always the same."

“Shortly after the middle of the 20th century” … most certainly points to the infamous anti-authority, pro-hedonism 1960s, that ushered in unparalleled self-indulgence (the essence of the demonic) into our world. In the midst of this, our Church has not only suffered unprecedented losses in the sheer number of souls, but we are witnessing an epidemic of liturgical abuse and rampant sacrilege. In an article that speaks to this, I called this a “Stealth Arianism.” Many claim we very well could be in the throes of what is termed, “The Great Apostasy.”

"The Consecration has not yet been made. I was there on March 25 [1984] in St. Peter’s Square, I was in the front row, practically within touching distance of the Holy Father. John Paul II wanted to consecrate Russia, but his entourage did not, fearing that the Orthodox would be antagonized, and they almost thwarted him. Therefore, when His Holiness consecrated the world on his knees, he added a sentence not included in the distributed version that instead said to consecrate “especially those nations of which you yourself have asked for their consecration.” So, indirectly, this included Russia. However, a specific consecration has not yet been made."

Commentary: An effort (March 25, 1984) by Pope John Paul II may have been made to please man and place man before God, but it appears it was not a conscious effort.  However, we did have the "period of peace" that was promised after the consecration that Sister Lucia said was indeed made correctly.  vtb

Also see:

"Archbishop Kondrusiewicz said he met three times with Carmelite Sister Lucia dos Santos, one of the three children who received the visions of Mary.  At the first meeting, in 1991, he told Sister Lucia that he was the Catholic archbishop in Moscow. “She asked several times, ‘Is it true?'”  ‘So,’ she said, ‘it means the prophecy of Fatima is fulfilled,'” Archbishop Kondrusiewicz said."

"A Third World War—which could have been nuclear—was foreseen, but it was averted because the pope made the Consecration to the Immaculate Heart of Mary."

Also see:

The End-Times - “The final battle between the Lord and the kingdom of Satan will be about marriage and the family. Do not be afraid, because anyone who works for the sanctity of marriage and the family will always be fought and opposed in every way, because this is the decisive issue. However, Our Lady has already crushed his head.”

Commentary: We are now experiencing that "final battle."  vtb

"Hell is not much spoken of these days, especially not in the graphic ways that Lucia recounts in her memoirs. The very idea, I recently read in a theology book, is one “in the last analysis, unworthy of Jesus”. The trouble is, Jesus himself disagrees. His own descriptions, moreover, are graphically to the point. Thus when Our Lady of Fatima speaks of “the fires of hell," she is simply repeating an image used often by her Son (Mark 9:43; Matthew 13:42, 50; 25:41)."

"If you’ve spent any time looking at Catholic Prophecy on the Internet, you’ve no doubt seen the excerpted portions of the visions of Blessed Anne Catherine Emmerich on the “relationship between two popes”  and the “baleful consequences” of the “false Church” that would supposedly follow."

"Montfort explains that in the days leading to the Antichrist, a powerful group will emerge from among the clergy which, through their devotion to Mary, will be granted special powers to fight Satan..."

Commentary: Great article that renews your hope!  vtb

“This anti-Gospel, which seeks to elevate the individual’s will to consume, to pleasure and to power over the Will of God, was rejected by Christ when tempted in the wilderness. Disguised as ‘human rights,’ it has reappeared, in all its luciferian hubris, to promulgate a narcissistic, hedonistic attitude that rejects any constraint except that imposed by man-made laws,” he said.

“The work of the devil will infiltrate even into the Church in such a way that one will see cardinals opposing cardinals, bishops against bishops. The priests who venerate me will be scorned and opposed by their confreres (other priests); churches and altars will be sacked; the Church will be full of those who accept compromises and the demon will press many priests and consecrated souls to leave the service of the Lord."

Commentary: Confusion caused in part by the lack of leadership from Pope Francis.  Without question, we are now living in the time predicted by Our Lady of Akita.  vtb

"Padre Pio told Father Amorth: "Satan has been introduced into the bosom of the Church and he will within a very short time come to rule a false Church." Amorth says that Padre Pio was "really tormented" by one issue that is "the great apostasy within the Church."

"A Modern Commentary on the Book of Revelation based on Private Revelation."

Commentary: Powerful reading that calls for discernment.  It is good to review these type revelations to increase your awareness of present, as well as future events.  vtb

"The suffering was far more than most imagine — so severe even before He reached Calvary, she (Anne Catherine Emmerich) says, that only supernatural ministering kept Him from expiring previous to making His way to the Cross."

Commentary:The immense sufferings of JESUS cannot be explained in words. The sins of mankind since Adam to the very last man on earth He took upon Himself to redeem us and reconcile us to the Father.  We, however, having knowledge of His great sufferings should not add to them any more than we already have.  We must re-establish our relationship with Our Savior and make every effort to keep a good relationship with JESUS through frequent Confessions, the Holy Rosary, and receiving Him through the Eucharist at the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass as often as possible.  vtb

"In Cracow-Pradnik, June 2, 1938, the Lord Jesus directed a young Polish Sister of Mercy on a three-day retreat. Faustina Kowalska painstakingly recorded Christ’s instruction in her diary that is a mystical manual on prayer and Divine Mercy."

"Treat not (discuss not) with a man without religion concerning holiness, nor with an unjust man concerning justice."  (Ecclesiasticus 37:12)
"He that is of God, heareth the words of God."  (John 8:47)
"...the sensual man perceiveth not the things that are of the Spirit of God, for it is foolishness to him and he cannot understand because it is spiritually examined."  (1 Corinthians 2:14)
Dear Visitors,
Pray for the Holy Spirit to guide you and the Blessed Virgin Mary to help you, and you will have an increased understanding of what is written here, and thus benefit your soul and the souls of your brothers and sisters all over the world.
Since 1993, I have been writing about the lukewarm state of today's Church.
"The faithful have the right, indeed at times the duty, in keeping with their knowledge, competence, and position, to manifest to the sacred pastors [bishops] their views on matters that concern the good of the Church.  They have the right also to make their views known to others of Christ's faithful, but in doing so must always respect the integrity of faith and morals, show due reverence to the pastors, and take into account both the common good and the dignity of individuals" (Canon Law 212).
Many in today's Church have forgotten this warning:
"I know thy works, that thou art neither cold, nor hot. I would thou wert cold, or hot.  But because thou art lukewarm, and neither cold, nor hot, I will begin to vomit thee out of my mouth."  (Apocalypse 3:15-16)
"I believe the Bible is the best Gift God has given to men.  All the good from the Savior of the world is communicated to us through this book."
Abraham Lincoln (1809-1865) - President of the United States.
Note: For Catholics, in order to avoid spiritual confusion and the deadly sin of pride, following the teachings of the Holy Bible must be combined with following the teachings of the Church:
Jesus: "And if he will not hear the church, let him be to thee as the heathen and publican." (Matthew 18:17)
"It is sometimes claimed that dissent from the magisterium (official teaching of the Church) is totally compatible with being a 'good Catholic' and poses no obstacle to the reception of the sacraments.  This is a grave error."
---Pope John Paul II (Speech to U.S. bishops in Los Angeles, Sept. 16, 1987).
"We are now standing in the face of the greatest historical confrontation humanity has gone through.  I do not think that wide circles of American society or wide circles of the Christian community realize this fully.  We are now facing the final confrontation between the Church and the anti-Church, of the Gospel versus the anti-Gospel."
---Karol Cardinal Wojtyla (Pope John Paul II), November 9, 1976.
"Because the sentence is not speedily pronounced against the evil, the children of men commit evils without any fear."  (Ecclesiastes 8:11)
Note:Those who seek to please God know we now live in a time of His Mercy.  However, this period of time will someday end and God will then send a "Judgment" upon the world because of our love of material things and the continued killing of millions of human beings through abortions:
"O how good and sweet is thy spirit, O Lord, in all things!  And therefore thou chastisest them that err, by little and little; and admonishest them, and speakest to them, concerning the things wherein they offend; that leaving their wickedness,  they may believe in thee, O Lord...
Because they did works hateful to thee... merciless murderers of their own children... Wherefore thou hast also greatly tormented them who in their life have lived foolishly and unjustly, by the same things which they worshiped.  For they went astray for a long time in the ways of error, holding those things for gods which are the most worthless among beasts, living after the manner of children without understanding.
Therefore thou hast sent a judgment upon them... they suffered by those very things which they took for gods..."
(Wisdom 12:1-2,4-5,23-25,27)
St. Bridget of Sweden had a vision of Pope Gregory XI standing before Christ in judgment that she then communicated to him (February, 1373):
"Rise up manfully, put on thy strength, and begin to renovate My Church which I acquired with My own Blood .... If thou dost not obey My Will, I will cast thee down from the Court of Heaven, and all the devils of hell shall divide thy soul, and for benediction thou shalt be filled with malediction -- eternally.... If thou dost obey me in this way, I will be merciful to thee, and will bless thee, and will clothe thee with Myself, so that thou wilt be in Me and I in thee, and thou shalt possess eternal glory."

The following is an admonishment given for those who have become self-righteous and selfish, and care more about the "services" a priest renders than they do about his soul:
"There are some who think, and even declare openly, that the true measure of the merits of a priest is his dedication to the service of others; consequently, with an almost complete disregard for the cultivation of the virtues which lead to the personal sanctification of the priest (these they describe as passive virtues), they assert that all his energies and fervor should be directed to the development and practice of what they call the active virtues.  One can only be astonished by this gravely erroneous and pernicious teaching."
A bishop or priest who will not accept correction is not humble - he is guilty of pride.  This pride is one of the Seven Deadly Sins and is reflected in the manner in which he says Mass as well as all other functions he conducts and participates in.  In addition, His spiritually lukewarm state infects the whole community he is supposed to "shepherd."
Because he has a greater knowledge of right and wrong, he  faces a greater punishment after his time on earth is completed:
"And that servant who knew the will of his lord and prepared not himself, and did not according to his will, shall be beaten with many stripes.  But he that knew not and did things worthy of stripes, shall be beaten with few stripes.  And unto whomsoever much is given, of him much shall be required...."   (Luke 12:47-48)
"He that is not with me, is against me; and he that gathereth not with me, scattereth"
(Matthew 12:30)
Clearly shown on this website are the grave sins being committed by members of the Catholic Church and other Christian Churches due to the lack of spirituality and leadership of many of our Shepherds whom, because of their pride, lack discernment for the "signs of the times" and for the gifts of wisdom and prophecy as expressed in the Sacred Scriptures.
"How sad it is that so many Catholic cardinals, bishops, priests, religious, and lay people do not overcome the affections of parents and friends, and bonds and attachments, and do not take care to fulfill the Holy Will of God, and correspond to the state of sanctity to which God calls them."
(Revealed to Luisa Piccarreta)
"For do I now persuade men, or God?  Or do I seek to please men? If I yet pleased men, I should not be the servant of Christ."  (Galatians 1:10)
"He (God) should be loved with the whole heart, and with the whole understanding, and with the whole soul, and with the whole strength."  (Mark 12:33).
The spiritual things written by this person are expressed through the charismatic Gift of Wisdom and offered for the good Shepherds and others who love the Church:
"And who shall know thy thought, except thou give wisdom, and send thy Holy Spirit from above.  And so the ways of them that are upon earth may be corrected, and men may learn the things that please thee?"
(Wisdom (9:17-18)
"Now there are diversities of graces, but the same Spirit.... And the manifestation of the Spirit is given to every man unto profit.  To one indeed, by the Spirit, is given the word of wisdom, and to another, the word of knowledge, according to the same Spirit...."
(1 Corinthians 12:4,7-8)

To remain at peace and joyful in this "FINAL CONFRONTATION" and in the midst of our sufferings, we must always place our trust in Jesus and continue to hope in Him.  To do this requires that we regularly confess our sins and ask our Lord to increase our faith:
"If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.  If we confess our sins he (God) is faithful and just; to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all iniquity."  (1 John 1:8-9)
"Now faith is the substance of things to be hoped for, the evidence of things that appear not."  (Hebrews 11:1)
"We can never have too great a trust in God's love, who is so powerful and merciful.  We receive from him as much as one hopes of him."  (St. Therese of Lisieux)
"Only a Christian community shining with holiness can efficaciously fulfill the mission entrusted to it by Christ, that is, to spread the Gospel to the far ends of the earth."
...Vatican City. Feb. 18, 2004. Pope John Paul II  (General Audience)
"Dear children!  Also today, as never up to now, I call you to open your hearts to my messages.  Little children, be those who draw souls to God and not those who distance them.  I am with you and love you all with a special love.  This is a time of penance and conversion.  From the bottom of my heart, I call you to be mine with all your heart and then you will see that your God is great, because He will give you an abundance of blessings and peace.  Thank you for having responded to my call."
(Our Lady's February 25, 2004 Message as provided by the Information Center in Medjugorje)
"Mary's prayers and requests are so powerful with God that they pass for commands with His Majesty."
---Saint Louis de Montfort
A good example of how God intervenes when oppressive rulers and those who believe in, and/or approve of, the "right to kill" the innocent and defenseless through abortion, lose their fear of the Lord, is given in the following teaching:

Saddam Hussein has been executed, but his influence remains, and the extent of the dangers Americans and those who have supported us will continue to face in the future by Muslim extremists (ISIS) is unknown.  As in Japan and Germany after World War II, resistance groups may remain in Iraq (as well as Afghanistan) for years, but with the exception that these groups are actually terrorists.  ("Insurgents" don't kill their own countrymen).  Therefore, much depends upon the degree of help and co-operation the people of these countries are willing to provide America and her allies.
Sadly, a large number of people from impious, wicked, godless, and/or misguided "religious" countries  are either prejudiced against the Church or lack understanding as to the spiritual importance of Her necessary role in society.  Therefore atheistic  dictators, self-appointed leaders, misguided elected officials, and religious zealots and extremists who have no regard for the sanctity of human life, will continue to present a grave danger to those who do not share their hatred, misguided "religious" views, or fanaticism:
"The hour cometh, that whosoever killeth you, will think that he doth a service to God.  And these things will they do to you because they have not known the Father, nor me.  But these things I have told you, that when the hour shall come, you may remember that I told you of them."
(John 16:2-4)
His Holiness, Pope John Paul II  wrote an outstanding letter on the subject of world peace and it covers what must be done to help achieve it.  But first, the Church must be renewed and brought out of it's lukewarm state.  That renewal must involve the souls of many cardinals, bishops, priests, and religious before other members of the Church (following their example) will return to truly practicing their faith.
If the lack of holiness on the part of our Shepherds and the spiritually lukewarm state of today's Church are not recognized as the true causes of mankind's lack of faith in God and His Church, we will not experience a true or lasting peace.
See:  Saint Pope John Paul II'smessage on world peace:AN EVER TIMELY COMMITMENT: TEACHING PEACE
We need not be afraid of the dangers facing mankind if we try to keep our hearts pure and place our trust in Jesus, for as Pope John Paul II has stated: "God is Just."  However, we must also pray to obtain true peace in the world.  And for Catholics, it would greatly benefit mankind if we prayed the Most Holy Rosary everyday.  We must always remember:All things are possible through prayer, and prayer and fasting can STOP WARS.
Another major reason peace does not exist in the world is because of the killing that take place though deliberate abortions.  Saint Pope John Paul II, gave a speech to those who work in Italian pro-life movement, but his wisdom on this subject applies equally to pro-life movements all over the world

Why is grave sin so "tolerated" by so many in today's world?  Why is the "right to kill" through abortion and the scandal involved with the "right to practice unnatural lifestyles" so accepted within, and outside the Church?  The answer always comes back to the level of our faith.  We also know that the reason evil continues to grow in society and within the Church is because it is often mistakenly thought of as "good" by thosewho have a powerful influence upon the general public (morally corrupt politicians and the atheistic main street media - especially biased television personalities who broadcast the news, as well as news commentators and late-night hosts).

True faithcontinues to decline because a morally sick, permissive liberalism has taken hold within the minds and hearts of people.  Through deceit and censorship many people now place their trust in the opinions of men rather than in the Word of Almighty God.  Arrogance has replaced humility, selfishness has replaced compassion, hypocrisy has replaced true piety.  A desire to be popular has replaced the desire to love God with our whole heart, our whole soul, and with all our strength, and to love our neighbors as we love ourselves.
When addressing the spiritual state of today's Church, especially in the West, it is a false teaching to say that a lukewarm spiritual state is not sinful.  When one is spiritually lukewarm, he or she breaks the Commandments because there is lacking that "love" which the Lord Commands us to have for Him and our neighbor:
"And one of them, a doctor of the law, asked him: 'Master, which is the great commandment in the law?' Jesus said to him: 'Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with thy whole heart, and with thy whole soul, and with thy whole mind.  This is the greatest and the first commandment.  And the second is like to this: Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself.  On these two commandments dependeth the whole law and the prophets.'"  (Matthew 22:35-40)
There is much talk of scandal in today's Church, and the sexual abuse scandals and their cover-ups are clear signs that something is gravely wrong in the priesthood.  But what environment exists in the priesthood that allows such scandals to occur?  The answer is the spiritually lukewarm state of many of today's bishops and priests and their attachments and love for the things of this world.
This lukewarm state is by far, the greatest "scandal" in the Church, for this causes the loss of many, many souls.  But sadly, many bishops and priests have yet to acknowledge this lukewarm state even exists.  This is the reason they fail to realize that ahandful of people coming to Confession each week is not the sign of a spiritually healthy parish.
Shown on this website is why Our Lord is not pleased with the vast majority of our Shepherds; many of whom are indeed lukewarm, and by their poor example are teaching their flock to also be lukewarm in the practice of their Faith.
Therefore, they shall suffer the punishment they are "inviting" Our Lord to give them if they continue to fail to confess their sins and be truly sorry for them:
"And the Lord said to Aaron: 'Thou, and thy sons, and thy father's house with thee shall bear the iniquity of the sanctuary.  And thou and thy sons with thee shall bear the sins of your priesthood.'"  (Numbers 18:1).

The footnote to these verses reads: "That is, you shall be punished if, through negligence or want of attention, you err in the discharge of the sacred functions for which you were ordained."
It is very important that the bishops of today's Catholic Church (if they desire to be listened to, and believed), first look inward at their own souls and then at the souls of the priests in their care andquestion their spirituality:
Do they speak out against all forms of evil - including that which comes from their "brother" priests?  How have they cared for their sheep?  Do they preach frequent confession of sins?  Do they themselves, frequently receive this Holy Sacrament? Do they ignore, ridicule, or refuse to spiritually study reported apparitions?
Do they believe the Lord no longer speaks to us through those who experience apparitions or visions?  How sincere and deep is their love for the Church?  Are they "content" with a spiritually lukewarm state in their diocese or parish?  Do they know what true holiness is?  Do they expect their flock to keep the Lord's Day Holy? Are they trying to please Almighty God, or trying to please man?
Do they truly know Jesus?  Do they have a true devotion to His Mother? Do they daily lead their sheep in the prayers of the Holy Rosary or do they assign this spiritual responsibility to others?  Are they among the "blind who are leading the blind"?  Do they actually desire wisdom and possess a holy fear of the Lord?:
"The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom."  (Psalm 110:10).
How ironic it is that many of today's bishops in the USA and in other nations can allow writers in the newspaper of their diocese (Father Richard McBrien of the University of Notre Dame) to attack the teachings of the Pope and yet these bishops are considered "faithful and obedient" to the Church!
How many times have we witnessed our Shepherds and others in the Catholic Church speak volumes on "love and mercy," but when corrected and admonished through the Holy Spirit because of their own sins and spiritually lukewarm state, they react without charity and reject or ignore that admonishment?  And how openly foolish they come across when they accuse those who reveal their sinful state of being "judgmental" or "lacking in charity" when they themselves are guilty of these sins.
Did not Our Lord Jesus, at the Last Supper give bishops and priests an example of the humility they must possess in the service of the Church?:
"If then I being your Lord and Master, have washed your feet; you also ought to wash one another's feet.  For I have given you an example, that as I have done to you, so you do also.  Amen, amen I say to you: 'The servant is not greater than his lord; neither is the apostle greater than he that sent him.' If you know these things, you shall be blessed if you do them"(John 13:14-17).
The following verses from the Sacred Scriptures explain why the Mission the Lord has given this, His servant, is a difficult one:
"And they to whom I send thee are children of a hard face, and of an obstinate heart.... Neither be thou afraid of their words; for thou art among unbelievers.... Fear not their words, neither be thou dismayed at their looks; for they are a provoking house.... And thou shalt speak my words to them, if perhaps they will hear, and forbear; for they provoke me to anger."  (Ezechiel 2:4,6-7)
"Thou therefore gird up thy loins and arise, and speak to them all that I command thee.  Be not afraid at their presence, for I will make thee not to fear their countenance.... And they shall fight against thee and shall not prevail, for I am with thee saith the Lord, to deliver thee."  (Jeremias 1:17,19)
May the Spirit of Jesus guide you, and our Mother Mary help you in your search for the truth.  Thank you for visiting this website.
Remember the good Shepherds who truly care about your soul and the harm sin brings to it and you will have peace.
